It's the fault of an old friend of mine... used to go on about the word "didd" - which he claims is the name of that dangly bit that turkeys have. However, it doesn't feature in the OED.
The OED does have didactyl and didactic, though. Also diddy, but we're not going to use that one (look it up). |
