Dave --
It will be about 3 hours before I will see a new work unit. I temporarily set my P4 system to select only FAAH just to get one and see the new graphics and all. Afterward, I will set it to select from all projects again as they are all worthy of my time. -- Dave |

i don't think you need to set that. You PIII will just leave those workunits alone. Pconfig -- You are entirely correct. The servers maintain enough information on the devices you have to recognize if one or more of your systems does not meet the minimum requirements for a project and will make appropriate work unit selections based on that. Best regards, |

Hm, this work uses up to 100mb of ram. That's alot
![]() My first work unit will last about 7.5hours so they seem to keep the estimation at 10 hours or so. |

Pconfig --
I am experiencing about the same, 100 Meg and work unit time somewhat shy of 10 hours. I think the size of the program probably reflects the language it was written in and the code probably has more bells and whistles in it than are being used for this project. When we first started running the Human Proteome Folding project, the program required more memory than it does today. The developers at the project office worked hard to remove the parts that were not required for the project and lowered the memory requirements substantially. I suspect this will also happen with the FightingAIDS@Home project as well. I guess time will tell. |
