Morning all - this will become the new team thread - we've outgrown the last one.
----------------------------------------Happy Birthday to you Team. One whole year of crunching together and those figures are impressive  Here's a little snippet from the Team's Website (Aldeb great coding ) Together we have crunched for 274 years 18 days 8 hours 29 minutes and (don't forget ) 26 seconds - in just one year  and sent back to Rich Bonneau at the Institute of Systems Biology 307,411 results  For which I can only say thankyou. --------------------------------------------------- Thanks for the 1,407 results yesterday and the 253,504 points which puts us in a true 5th place A run time taking us to just after half past 3 in the afternoon on the 2nd March in year 2 (assuming it's not a leap year )That's a great way to celebrate our first birthday another great way is to welcome aboard the good ship MOT 3 new team mates. 3 (Sorry I didn't get around to posting last night it was a long day  )So team please extend your usual warm greetings to Matt Preston (Thanks for your email Matt) Rene Punt and sammercer. Thanks for choosing MOT. As we are now 1 year old it is now a tradition for me to say at this point... Your member page is now online at the team website. If you would like any extra info on there please could you drop me an email and I will update it for you. A year ago today I discovered the World Community Grid had just been set up to use our PC's Idle Time for the good of Mankind. That can only be a good thing and after crunching for Cancer Research at Grid.org with a run time of 5 years I jumped ship to help out over here on the WCG.
----------------------------------------I signed up MyOnlineTeam and me, my 2 daughters, my crunching buddy Jonathon and his Dad were just hoping we might stay in the top 1000 teams if we were lucky. In those early days of the WCG, Me, Dave Bell and Lawrence Hardin used to trip over each other in the forums as we tried to help sort out some teething troubles and so we became friends through the WCG and they both joined MyOnlineTeam (Thanks Guys) and that's when we coined the tag line "The Best Supported Team on the WCG" as although we were just 7 in number - you get the idea.The rest as they say is history Other notable events include Graham's bbc.co.uk item which peaked the Team's website with over 700 visitors on that day and around 3,000 new members signed up as a result of that one news item. Never could I have imagined that one year later we would have 213 Team Mates and be No3 in the team rankings. It still causes great mirth at MOT HQ each time I write this. We are only behind the mighty /. and IBM Corporation themselves which has to be said is awesome. Thanks Team for a great first year. Long may it continue Dave |
