Re: New Websites to promote the World Community Grid

Daaaaaave,

Add the same para in French, German, Italian, Dutch, Spanish, Russian, Mandarin Chinese, Japanese, Arab, Hindi and Esperanto.

Assuming its going to stay a single paragraph, make it sensitive to the browser setting, serving it up in the local language and maybe scrape the stats page to pick up the current global Member/CPU figure.

How to get the translations: Post the static text and ask for members to provide one. Think there are enough volunteers here to provide for 'correction'.

And please, don't use Babelfish.... it will produce 'lost in translation' or pure nonsense and was good for a political riot a few weeks ago. Some American journalists thought they could send in the questions using that tool and upset foreign affairs big time (It does HIV to VIH in Spanish properly though biggrin ).

Oh, maybe replace the link with www.WCGrid.org .... It works.

ciao

(somehow this reminded me of that 'I want my Stickies' series last year wink )

With a little help from a friend in Tuscanese Italian (sort of *not* Cockney English):

Potresti fare la differenza!

Attraverso questo sito 339,847 eccezionali persone hanno finora contribuito, donando al di fuori di ogni aspettativa 125,248 anni di tempo del loro PC a favore di questa campagna.

Re: New Websites to promote the World Community Grid

I'll add that this weekend

I've just worked out have had 3.5 days off in the last 24 weeks (including bank holidays)

No wonder I'm a bit cheesed off silly
