Today my sister and I will be meeting with a real estate agent at my mom’s house to see what we have to do before putting it up for sale. It’s so sad, since we moved into that house in 1965 and we watched it being built. We used to come out from Queens on the weekends and “visit” it during it’s construction. I remember my sister and I walking through it when it was framed out and pointing out which room was going to be ours. We are the only family this house has ever known. And now the time has come to have to sell it. I’m going to get there a little earlier and do some more packing up for donation. No time to get in my scrap room today.
Hope you all have a great day.
So many memories. Cherish them all!

Need to jump in the shower. Just back from walking. Chilly one out there @ 29degrees. But, no wind and bright sunshine.
Washing sheets and towels and want to clean bathrooms.
Then I can scrap. Need to pay some bills too
Have a great Friday everyone!!!
Oh I forgot it was Pi Day!

And like Louise the buyers of our house was another young family. We really were happy for that! They were going to do some much needed remodeling but they love that house as much as we did!
I’ ll be praying for you as you go through this process. Oh and the money that I got from the sale of the house was enough to pay cash for our property. We have no mortgage! That’s what mom and dad really wanted for us.
Thank you for sharing your sweet story Ginni. Wow our timelines line up almost perfectly. I turned 11 a few months after we moved in. I love that you kept your key. Such a treasure to hold on to. I already have some of my mom's things here that I have taken home with me. But you have made me think about taking a piece of the house itself!

Wondering how far you are from Exton, PA? Reply or PM me,
I found 2 more hostesses who have weekend crops at a great hotel
there that I have been going to. Would be great to have more
company! Both crops I have been to are awesome, breakfaast in
the mornings (I have been eating omlets every day!), they have a restaurant,
not a big menu, but the food is out of this world, and a bar right there too. We
usually order a drink, take it to the table and then order dinner, some nights its
a buffet to get youraelf. I love it!!
Anyone who wants the info, message me!!

Yes Barb! My parents had a set of bifold doors that went from the foyer into the rec room. They put all of our growing marks on the inside of one of the doors. I wanted to bring the doors but Steve wouldn’t let me. I made such a fuss that he took the banister from the stairs and copied everything onto it. Not in mom or dad’s writing but better than nothing. And all of us took things that were special including furniture. The dining room set they bought the first year they were there came with me from Virginia to Florida and finally up here to Alaska. Steve says it’s the most expensive set in the world. Hahaha! But it’s going to be absolutely perfect in the house with the Sputnik chandelier we found on amazon!
It’s really amazing how closely our timelines match! Such a small world!

Hello cherries!!! It’s already been quite a day!!!
Grandson Joe had a big meltdown last night. It took a couple of hours for him to adjust his attitude with his parents and Steve and I talking to him. Man he is one stubborn kid! But then we all have our days too. He was pretty homesick so Steve is on the ferry with him now. Greg will take him shopping while he’s there and then he’ll be back about 6:30 tonight. It’s a really long day but it’s worth shopping over there because you can get a lot of things so much cheaper.
So that leaves me home alone. But it hasn’t quite been the relaxing morning I thought I’d have.
After they left I tried to open the main door downstairs and it wouldn’t budge no matter what I did. I know it sticks but I couldn’t get it open. So I tried the sliding door to my scrap room. It was locked. But I TOTALLY spaced the laundry door on the side of the house! DOH!!! I was trying to gear myself up to try the spiral staircase for the first time but I was really nervous. It’s partially installed. Steve, Greg and Joe all climb it with no problem but I get vertigo easily and I haven’t braved them yet. I always use the outside stairs. So finally Joe calls to see how I’m doing and Steve says to remind me of the laundry room door! OMG!!! I felt so silly!!! Talk about a senior blonde moment!
Anyway I was able to get that door open with no problem. Steve had to tell me the trick with the main door and I was able to toss wood onto the porch and stuff the stove with wood. WHEW!!! I might be REALLY sore tomorrow but I did it! Now I just have to keep an eye on it to make sure I don’t let it go out.
So I’ve saved myself the happy scrappy day I was looking forward to.
I have a layout that just needs a title and ideas for a couple more layouts. It’s only 11 now so I have plenty of play time!
Hope you’re all having a great day!!!!

I am slowly getting back to scrapping. Been going to weekend crops, meeting new people and
totally enjoying it! For some reason, scrapping at home is not working, I just stare at the TV, which
is all reruns. I love that the weather is finally getting nicer here!
My scrap bags are still packed from last weekend. I did get my dirty laundry to the basement, lol.
Next weekend I have a day crop with a friend in town. The weekend after that is a 4 day weekend
in OA, just 45 minutes from home. Then its April, a 4 day crop in OC, MD. They have the most amazing
Italian food right within the hotel ans an amazing deli!! That is my ABSOLUTE FAV place ever. Then I have
No crops till August, hopefully I can lose weight from April!!! LOL!!!
Hubby is working tomorrow, so hoping to upload my work at least and get that added here.
Have a great weekend all!

Alan and I bought this house brand new construction in 1977! Alan died in the living room here in 2019. I’ll live here until I die most likely. My kids were 4,8,and 10 when we moved in. The house is part of our family after 48 years. My younger son says he will Never sell it after I’m gone. But who knows. Life goes on per God’s plans, not ours.

Howdy. Another stormy day here. I have to go to the grocery in a bit. Boys coming to dinner tonight and I need potatoes for my stew. Cold dreary grey winter days just beg for stew and biscuits to me. lol
had a bit of insomnia last night. Finally took an Alleve (which knocks me out) about 3am and didn’t waken till 11. I think going in and out to try and see the lunar eclipse may have wound me up a bit. I saw nothing but clouds from this storm moving in. lol.
happy Pi Day. Have a pleasant Friday.

Hey everyone! I've been spending the day with sweet grandpuppy Ridge. He's been such a good boy for me today. We spent alittle time on the deck, but we don't have the canvas roof up yet and it's pretty hot in the 80's!! Brad and daughter Marla went to watch Lucy's basketball team today. They are still in 1st place!! Just one more game to go tomorrow at 5.
Enjoy your day, everyone!

I did not know it was PI day! I forgot! It was 80 here yesterday, and I walked 4 miles. In fact every day this week has been high 70s, until today. 65, but DP feels like 49 and winds over 29 mph with gusts up to 48 mph! So only walked a little this morning before wind came up. All kinds of wind alerts and fire warnings. But at least I enjoyed earlier this week.
I a, still participating in CalvinBall, but making more cards than scrap layouts.
We just watched our university loose their game in the their tournament.
The wind keeps breaking up the tv signal and picture goes crazy.
i did all my tests for clearance for upcoming surgery. No one called so hopefully I am all clear, two more weeks.
uesterday we went to a St Pat’s event. It was kind of fun. Hopefully I can get a layout of it.
I hope everyone is doing well this afternoon.
