Hey Cherries. Today my sister and I will be meeting with a real estate agent at my mom’s house to see what we have to do before putting it up for sale. It’s so sad, since we moved into that house in 1965 and we watched it being built. We used to come out from Queens on the weekends and “visit” it during it’s construction. I remember my sister and I walking through it when it was framed out and pointing out which room was going to be ours. We are the only family this house has ever known. And now the time has come to have to sell it. I’m going to get there a little earlier and do some more packing up for donation. No time to get in my scrap room today.
Hope you all have a great day.

Hugs to you and your sister, Barb. It’s not easy letting go of the past. Thankful for the memories you have. Good luck with the process.pawprints wrote: ↑Fri Mar 14, 2025 9:44 amHey Cherries. Hey Cherries
Coffee time lol I'm working at 2 today and hoping to get some extra time on the clock. (I'm only scheduled 5 hours.) (Everyone else has had their hours cut too.)
I've let a few people know that I'm looking for extra work. Truly I have done just about everything from clerical work to caring for Elderly people, kids, animals; I've done a LOT in my time!
I'm JUST feeling better lately!
I KNOW there's been a LOT of prayers on my behalf, and I feel them working!
So absolutely thank you Cherries!
After work I'm hoping to relax and work on my collage some more! I'm having so MUCH fun with it! No idea what I'll do with it when it's finish, maybe use it as an album cover?
I love you Cherries and hope you ALL have blessed days!

Barb - I have exactly been in that situation. My parents bought a new house in 1962, my sister and I grew up there. My mom died in 2019 and my sister and I met with a real estate agent in early 2020. Since my sister lives on the west coast and works full time, we figured I would do most of the work and then she would fly in to deal with her stuff and some sentimental things. But, then the pandemic hit and she never went back to the house, she had to say good-bye to our childhood and family home over FaceTime. Even though it was a pandemic, I ended up meeting the young couple who bought the house and my parents would have approved of them. And they took the piano and few nicer pieces of my parents furniture which made me very happy, I didn't want to junk that stuff. It seemed awful to be doing that, but then in the end it was ok, my mom would have been so happy that there was a bidding war over her little house that she always felt wasn't nice enough. Hugs to you and just know, there is a silver lining in this. And you never know what treasures you will find in that house. I found many wonderful old letters.

Pretty slow day here today. my cleaning guy is here so I'm in my scrap room. So far, I did step 2 of the double page challenge. I like that she is doing it like the progressive challenges, since I hosted them and didn't get to participate.
Today is Purim which is a minor Jewish holiday. It's mostly celebrated with carnivals and made fun for kids, but we won't have any little kids in our family these days. We'll just have a nicer dinner and I ordered hamantaschen donuts for dessert. I have no idea what exactly that would be since hamantachen are triangular and donuts are round, but my husband really wanted them and I'm sure they will be delicious. Actually, Purim evening was last night but we're doing this tonight because it works for our schedule.
Have a great day and happy Friday!

Out and about again this morning to pick up a new grill. Woohoo! Organizing scrap albums this afternoon. I put 27 LOs in the proper albums last night. DGD is spending the night and I will take her for dance photos in the morning.

Putting all those pages away is quite the chore. I need to do that. Just ordered a couple of albums. Happy Friday!

Did you know it's Pi Day???
Need to jump in the shower. Just back from walking. Chilly one out there @ 29degrees. But, no wind and bright sunshine.
Washing sheets and towels and want to clean bathrooms.
Then I can scrap. Need to pay some bills too
Have a great Friday everyone!!!

Barb, I know EXACTLY how you feel! My parents bout their house in 1965. I turned 11 about a week before we moved in. We were the only ones who had ever owned it too. We were in the process of getting it ready to sell when my mom passed. It was really hard for me. They wanted all of our keys but I couldn’t give mine up so I pretended like I didn’t have one.pawprints wrote: ↑Fri Mar 14, 2025 9:44 amHey Cherries. And like Louise the buyers of our house was another young family. We really were happy for that! They were going to do some much needed remodeling but they love that house as much as we did!
I’ ll be praying for you as you go through this process. Oh and the money that I got from the sale of the house was enough to pay cash for our property. We have no mortgage!

I hope your donuts are good! Maybe they’ll make a triangle with a hole in it? Enjoy your Purim celebration!

Thank you for sharing that Louise. That is so sad that your sister couldn't say good-bye to the house in person. It is going to be hard for us the day we turn it over to someone else. We have been finding lots and lots of pictures and my son is so into ancestry he has been collecting many of the papers and photos that we have been finding. Right now we have my mom's kitchen table loaded with photos and photo albums that we have found. And my sister just told us that she found a whole treasure trove of photos and certificates and papers the other day and we are anxious to see them.
