Cherry Bark

Scrap a Day, November 7th
Good morning cherries. Barb touched base with Susan and I. She appreciates the cherry thoughts/prayers. Her mother's service was nice but emotional, which is to be expected. She's hoping to be back on the boards in a few days but I told her no rush at all. She takes all the time she needs. There is no Rule in the Book of Loss where you must bounce back in a certain amount of time. Each person is different. Each person grieves differently. Each person's loss is different. Losing a mother can be easy for one person, or might be detrimental for one person. Nobody is going to judge a person based on how they grieve.

Anyways, enjoyed the weather yesterday knowing it would all go away overnight. Which it did. I still went on my walk but ick... 😜 There is so much humidity..you'd think it'd be raining. But nope! 76 degrees with 97% humidity and zero wind. I almost turned around but I kept trucking.

Threw towels in the washer, and started working on the grocery list for the upcoming week. Need to take care of some emails that came in last night after I was done with the day, then move onto reviewing a report for my client.

Hope y'all have a great day!

Good morning!!

Keeping Barb and her family in my prayers.  It really is difficult dealing with the loss of a family member.  I know she will be okay, however long it takes.

I was so NOT motivated last night.  Kinda.  I folded a load of laundry, put a premade breakfast casserole in the oven, vacuumed my "office" and watched a bit of tv.  THEN I got my second wind and started on a page.  I so hope to finish it tonight.  I struggle with pages that don't really have a theme or papers and embellishments to go with it.  I need to check out a bit of Pinterest to get some ideas on how to dress up this page.  It's of the cemetery tour in New Orleans.  I am going to pull some info on it from the website for some journaling, but other than that, I'm lost on ideas for any kind of embellishment.  I'm sure I'll figure it out.

Have a great day!

You're VERY correct about the grieving process, Brandy. Each loss is it's own ...
Way to go on walking even in that humidity! Cheers to you! 😀
I hope you have a great day! 😊

Have a wonderful day, Wendy! I also got REALLY tired yesterday evening and then had a second wind, too! Lol I know how it can be! 😂
I love Pinterest, too, lol I lose time when I'm there! 😂 I have a ton of embellishments that I want to match to my page kits lol it's ALWAYS something with this hobby, but that's part of what makes it such a joy, right?! 😊
Be blessed my friend! 😊

Hey Cherries 😊
I started the Black Friday #1 challenge yesterday and love how it's coming along! So MANY challenges and NOT enough time! 😂 I got really tired yesterday and laid down for a while but got up with a second wind, too! 😆
I'm off again today and while I NEED to tackle the clean laundry, I'm going with the flow today! I crave my creative time all the time! Lol!
I work tomorrow, so I'm gonna finish this layout today and hopefully I'll be able to do some MORE fun stuff! 😊
Have a great day Cherries 😊

Re: Scrap a Day, November 7th
Good morning. No rain today!  I am needing to get out and walk.  Rain has kept me inside except for daily walk to bus stop to get grandkids. I am used to minimum 4000 steps a day if lazy lol but barely making 2000. Even sweeping DD’s entire house every morning doesn’t add up to much but she said the house hasn’t been so clean since I was here last year!  lol

Nothing much going on as usual.  Really wanting my craft stuff. I have rewatched almost every season of Castle last two weeks!  I did order some rocks to paint when I get home.  A friend wants to try painting cute rocks lol so since I have soooo much craft stuff I said I’d help. She was going to go out and look for appropriate rocks but I laughed and ordered some on Amazon.

have a totally thumbs up Thursday

Brandy, you’re 100% right about the grieving process! It takes a long timer for some people. But others just move on. I’m glad you told Barb to take as long as she needs!

Hope your work day goes well today! And kudos for pushing through the humidity!!! You’re an inspiration!!!

Eh...it's...okay. BUSY with a moment or two had to take a break to re-group. WHEW! State Licensing showed up to my client's office unannounced...needing some training information on parents for the last 2 years and the report "appeared" incorrect. The issue was things were not named in the same manner that the program was expecting. So I had (1) explain to my client and calm her @$$ down (she isn't a fan of the state just SHOWING up) and (2) cleaning up records. Luckily it was only TWO trainings (parents have to take about 2 dozen in a year..at least) and TWO locations. With one of those locations only having a handful of parents. Now that all of that is done...I need to figure out the changes I/we need to make across the board with the training (naming conventions, cross-referencing, data entry, certificates, reporting, etc). 😜

That must be so frustrating Brandy!  It reminds me of working with a government contractor and our security clearance officer would sometimes just show up.  We had to keep careful records every time someone pulled a file that was confidential or secret and if tat wasn't right or if any document(s) were missing it was a big nightmare.  I finally learned that the guys would take the inspector out to a girly bar that served food and drinks and he'd just say everything was fine and not go back after lunch!!!      It worked until he wasn't our inspector anymore.  LOLOL!!!  I don't think anyone you or your client might be dealing with would be able to do what those guys did but you never know do you?!  HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

I just HAVE to share this picture that my youngest stepson Mike took on the ferry when he came over last night!!!

And this is the layout I finished last night for Flasher's Halloween Party #2 Challenge.  It's our nephew Riley with his daughters Emily and Ryleigh, and his fiancee Bella.  I had fun making this layout!!!  :)

Now I have to clean awhile because they might be coming over this weekend too!  And then I'm going to tackle Flasher's #1 challenge.  :)

Wendy, we are considering a New Orleans vacation early next year. Would you recommend it? I am not a sit around kind of girl so I want to see everything, Lots of cool stuff to see?  This vacation is also going to be pre knee replacement so I need to keep that in mind. Thanks for any info you can share :)

We loved it!  We went in June due to the kids' school schedules, and it was HOT!!  So I would recommend any other time...lol.  We did so much sightseeing and had a blast.  So much to see.  And it was busy but relaxing.  VERY different from our usual Disney trip..lol.  We did a swamp tour, ghost tour, cemetery tour, lots of food, lots of walking tours throughout the different neighborhoods.  I highly recommend it!
I can send you some info if you like.  My favorite part was that all the tours we did, did not break the bank.
