Re: invalid key problem here too

Yes, indeed.

Now, I know this is an obvious question, but are you using the username and password you used to register on this site?

Password, not account key.

Also that.... and the spelling etc. is also correct. The server somehow identifies me, I guess, because it brings up an error message related to my account key (which I haven't used at all, so far).

Odd.

Think you could attach directly, using the command line and your account key? I can give detailed instructions if you need them.

Re: invalid key problem here too

Ok, I can try that. What do I need to do? I use the client on Win XP.

Re: invalid key problem here too

Open a command window (Start->Run... type cmd)

Navigate to the BOINC folder. (cd \progra~1\BOINC)

Use the BOINC command tool to send an attach command:

boinc_cmd --project_attach www.worldcommunitygrid.org accountkey

Also that doesn't work... the entry www.worldcommunitygrid.org at least appears in my project overview on the BOINC Commander, but disappears after 1 or 2 seconds.
I also tried it without having the commander running.

Re: invalid key problem here too

Sorry folks. When I set up the beta test for the fix to Genome Comparison problem I accidently change the permissions for a file so that it couldn't be read. This happened to be a important file that was needed to take what member updated (or created) on the website and put it into the BOINC database.

I have fixed this problem and confirmed that new members are now in the BOINC database. You should be able to connect correctly now.

Re: invalid key problem here too

I think it's not completely solved. I had the exact same problems as the original poster. When I try again now, I get the message "Server can't open database"
