Re: Corrupted work units?

I had the same problem. I have 3 computers at home plus 5 at working 24/7.
And when i checked i got a msg that my system was crashing and was unable to run. I was asked to check my virtual memory and run my antivirus. At home i run NOD32 and at work i use TREND MICRO OFFICESCAN. I chanced all my machines to genome project and back to crunch normally.
I had this problem since this saturday. Everyday i change one of my computer and try to crunch HDC but got the same problem.
Here is my device id 408198.

Re: Corrupted work units?

Zigfried,

please check if your machine(s) is/are set up on disk requirements per below. We have weird scenes inside the goldmine.... some have been relating to the antivirus software of various brands. Some have reported false positives.

I'm about to give Nod32 a try.... just need to boot..... keep hearing very good things about it.

Genome Comparison requires 5.4.9 for Linux / 5.4.11 for Windows as it uses the transmission compression features which are build in those official versions. Get it here: http://boinc.berkeley.edu/download_all.php

Cheers

PS, what about Isolde?

Re: Corrupted work units?

Hi, all my machines have 10GB set in my profile.
All of them run UD agent. I don't use boinc.
I wanna discover why only HDC crash.
Thanx

Off-topic; Yes, you definitely should try NOD32. It's the best scanner so far as far as I'm concerned. I've used McAfee, AVG and Norton in the past and they don't even come close to NOD32.
It's so light. It has been running continuously for eight hours today, and it has consumed a staggering 8 seconds of CPU-time. wink In that time it has been running in the background, and has been updating its database.

Re: Corrupted work units?

I've been getting this on two machines, XP and UD. sometimes it is fixed with a reboot, sometimes I have to stop a process called UD and some numbers which is using 95% of the CPU. A bit frustrating becausse while the machine is sitting idling I am losing points crying

Re: Corrupted work units?

i have this problem it download datas ,
then it says task running and redownload in loop.

i tested to install the UD on my other computer
wich does any tasks without errors.
but i had the same result :(

i had run fightsaids@home for half a year 24/24h
without a problem.
this computer is dedicated to run UD
(i bought it for the purpose)
days and nights.(p3 1 gighz 1gig ram )
and 4 days ago one of my old hard drive broke
and i had to reinstall.

then i started having this problem

both machines have SP1 winxp ,
the one with UD don't have any patches after SP1 release.

Re: Corrupted work units?

i installed BOINC
and now it works again i think
it shows ATM 24.850% done ;
so i am going to simply blame UD.exe .
:(
