I am having the same problem as Hans Man, I am running the FightAIDS@Home and the WU Has taken over 38 hours and is stuck at 10.4%. It has been there for over 20 hrs. The last WU that I ran took about 13and a half hrs to complete. The WCG client is showing that I have only .98GB of storage when I actually have over 100GB. Is the BOINC client any better than the WCG client?
----------------------------------------If you could email me with the info I would appreciate it. My email is Robert Kinkead [Edit 1 times, last edit by Robert Kinkead at Jan 14, 2007 8:12:10 PM] |

Robert,
----------------------------------------u better edit your mail address to make it none machine legible. In a thread just below this one (presently) i just re-posted a few links on how to migrate to BOINC from UD agent: http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread?thread=11027#83347 It's with great certainty, that other software is holding up the UD agent, specifically the security software or some other higher priority process of virus or spam bot. FA@H rarely fails. Have seen large fluctuations in duration though in the last week..... from 6 CPU hours to 10 CPU hours under BOINC. They all complete fine. If u decide to call it quits and migrate to BOINC (yes much better, but more involved), kill the process WCGxxxAutodockxxx.exe then the error-result will be send back. If u post your device ID and the estimated time (edit: u downloaded the work unit), the technicians will be able to have a look at the specific work unit. cheers

Hello Robert Kinkead,
----------------------------------------The WCG client is showing that I have only .98GB of storage when I actually have over 100GB. This means that your profile authorizes 1 GB. You can always increase your authorized storage in My Grid - Device Manager - Device Profiles. stuck at 10.4%. It has been there for over 20 hrs. Something has gone wrong. Bring up Task Manager and see where the CPU is spending its time. Then reboot. If there is anything funny about the work unit, use Task Manager to kill the FAAH application program (WCGrid_AutoDock or something similar) in order to draw a new work unit. Have you set your throttle to 100%? ( http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread?thread=2683#61655 ) You can always switch to BOINC: http://www.wcgwiki.org/en/boinc/migration.cfm Lawrence [Edit 1 times, last edit by Former Member at Jan 14, 2007 10:00:27 AM] |

Hi Sekerob
----------------------------------------I just shut down and restarted the WCG client and it is now reporting that I have completed 9% and running for about 4.25 hrs. kill the process WCGxxxAutodockxxx.exe then the error-result will be send back. If u post your device ID and the estimated time (edit: u downloaded the work unit), the technicians will be able to have a look at the specific work unit. I already have BOINC installed and am participating in several other projects as well. I have checked out the client and the My Grid page but I cannot find the information on this WU anywhere, can you give me the info as to where to find this information? Thanks RK [Edit 1 times, last edit by Robert Kinkead at Jan 14, 2007 8:13:17 PM] |

Go to device manager and hit device statistics. The device for UD will tell u when the last Work unit was downloaded / previous one returned.

Since I posted the last message I have un-installed the WCG client and am running the BOINC client. The first 4 results ended in unrecoverable errors.

That's not good at all. When u ran UD agent and BOINC for that matter, did u see lots of disk activity? Can u post the log from the message tab so we can have a look at the error reporting sequence.
----------------------------------------My first reaction would be to run some hardware diagnoses..... See the 'Start Here ' forum for tips of what to run.
