Re: Minnesota Crunchers

Do you have some kind of dummy plug on the back of the one not hooked up to a monitor in order for it to work? Since the processor has intel 4000 on chip, would want to just use that to free the cards. Are you doing that? I have noticed on my 7870 that if I leave my 24 inch monitor on (watching), it adds time to the wu's crunching time.

Re: Minnesota Crunchers

A dusting of snow this morning, about an inch(2.5cm). An apt opening for deer season. Warmed up to the mid 30'sF(3C) so snow is gradually melting. At least it is moisture.
Cheers

Re: Minnesota Crunchers

Not using dummy plugs...they work fine without being connected to anything. My other machines are gaming and HTPC so I need them hooked up to the graphics cards, not integrated.

Congrats on the 100M milestone :)

Thanks. If I picked up another card, I could do 1 million ppd on GPU alone. Am currently debating that now. biggrin

So much for debating. Just pulled the trigger on a 7950. Got to give Ryan a run for his money. Hope to be here by the time I switch back to the team.

Thought you were going to wait until the 8000 series was out. That should be sweet.

Yeah, but HCC GPU will end in around 90 days unless they expand it and don't think WCG has another one in the hopper yet. Since my 6950 is on the fritz, I needed a double precision card to do some milkyway after WCG GPU is done. Initial prices will probably be high anyways and like to read reviews for a bit before I jump on new tech. With my 7870 doing 8, will try 12 on the 7950 and hope its stable. I have plenty of cores to use too. With ryan climbing in the ranks, have to give him a run for his money. biggrin

Re: Minnesota Crunchers

Moved up from 41 to 39 in overall position based on points due to GPU processing. I added a 7970 on Thursday and will add a 7770 tomorrow night. This is in addition to the 6 GTX480s and 3 GTX 295s I already had.

I have been unable to run multiple WUs per GPU on my Nvidia cards, but am running 6 WUs on the 7970 on an AMD 1090. I am now doing 1,500,000 per day, up from about 450,000 per day before GPU processing.

It also looks like the team is benefiting as it will move up from 40 to 39 in the next couple of days.
