I see on the Boinc download site that 5.7.5 is still unstable and for testing only.... so how much further away is 5.8 going to be? Rob Not far hopefully. The CVS tree was forked today for creating release candidates. We should see RC0 tomorrow or later tonight. Also I think it is the *nix benchmark that is correct, the others are too good. |

Hi Keck_Komputers,
Also I think it is the *nix benchmark that is correct, the others are too good. That was the complaint back in the 1990s. The Windows compiler makers were competing with each other by creating optimizations that eliminated loops from the benchmarks that were computing but not producing results used elsewhere. The Linux bench mark scores are probably accurate. The Windows benchmark scores are wildly inflated. (According to complaints published back in the 1990s.) Lawrence |

It's like VHS and Beta max.... Windows and Linux, so the smaller population has to adapt to the larger....isn't it wonderful. Long as there is a level playing field on work to points conversion, it does not really matter.
