Greetings
I wish there was an available ranking for the "Avg. Points Per Hour of Run Time". This way it will give some information on the fastest CPU out there and how it compares to your CPU. |

That would be useful for your proposed purpose if everyone only had only 1 computer on the grid. But many crunchers have several computers crunching so the "average points per hour of runtime" stat is just an average of their entire farm. Maybe everyone could look at their device statistics and divide each machines points by total runtime to get it's average points per hour and post the numbers here. I can start with the some of the machines I have crunching. Keep in mind these are all CPU times calculated by BOINC, not wall clock time like UD uses.
----------------------------------------Intel E6400 dual core 3.4GHz..............143 points/hour/core AMD Opteron 170 dual core 2.8GHz.....106 points/hour/core AMD Opteron 165 dual core 2.7GHz.....101 ponts/hour/core AMD Athlon 64 3800+ 2.4GHz...............90 points/hour Intel Celeron M 1.4GHz laptop...............50 points/hour According to my stats, my "average points per hour of runtime" is around 71.2. All the machines above are fairly recent additions to my farm, they havn't had time to bring my average up very much yet.![]() |

Hi Olympic & Bassim,
----------------------------------------Wars have been waged over values lower than 143/hour, so its better to censor yourself ;>). According to the RAC of BOINCstats on the only machine running P4 2.53ghz HT Northwood, i'm doing 176*7/24=51.33 per hour (throttled to 80% which is borderline acceptable on latest HDC batches)......still almost twice the global aggregate all-time average of WCG global 27.92. My box is 4.8 years old! ciao

Look at the top 2 entries.... 180+ pph and less than 2.5hours/WU. Those are some reaaaaaly fast machines!
