WCG needs to do better marketing, I suggest that they have an html code that one can past on ones blog or website. This code would cause a " I support World community Grid" logo to appear on ones webpage/blog. It would be a sort of advertising.

One of the worst advertising/marketing techniques that this project is using is allowing a "Community Advisor" to badmouth teams that have joined without evidence of what he says to back up his badmouthing.
What are other teams to expect if this person is allowed to do what he has been doing recently? |

This really doesn't belong here. Actually, it does..when the administrators have to apologize for said Advisor and when in a communication with a member of this community have advised him that they had had a talk with said advisor and have asked him to use bettre judgement in his responses and have suggested to him that he apologizes, something is wrong with that Advisor. Advisors are by their nature and functions one of the people new crunchers and candidates/possible crunchers notice when they come to this Community Forum: their good conduct (or lack of thereof) speaks a million words for the community. In the case of the person in question, his clear bias, partisanship and lack of respect for a team and for many other members of this community do not speak well of what the community stand for. It is a case of a bad spokesperson for the community. A good product can be tainted by the quality of the spokesperson it has. (That is a basic advertising rule, so it follows that some improvement has to be made in thos aspect of the community. Ergo: the issue belongs here. |

I think the point has been made now - the Admins are dealing with the situation - its time for us all to calm down and let them get on with it.

That is a good sign. Time to move on I think and let this go my friend. It's done. Everyone has said their 2 cents and it looks like we are all on a good course again. Let us all take the energy we used on this topic and put it into something constructive like building another cruncher. Patience, tolerance and understanding will get us(all of us) to a much better place than any amount of bickering. The fighting just eats at you like a cancer and thats what we are here to beat, not to start mi amigo. ![]() ![]() |
