This gets pretty old. I believe that I was the one who found spelling errors on the front page. I was the one who brought up the fact that "Watch the Video" link was broken. Insignificant as it may seem.
I only bring up these things because I know some people will judge harshly right off before they even know the cause. Much as I am judged on here. Many people just look for any excuse not to run a program like this that I have talked to. Atleast, bad grammar or broken links won't be one of them! My computer has crunched upwards of 3,000 results over the last year under 2 different accounts. I am running a dual core AMD X2 4400 full time for these projects. I may bring up questionable things but not without a good reason. I remember leaving the other grid project also. I choose this one because I see good, possibly worth while work being done here. The project scientists actually provide some limited feedback every now and then. I never seen this on the other cancer grid project. They didn't seem to care about anything...very distasteful. I see no other distributed computing project running right now I'd want to be a part of other then this one. I was the person who talked to head engineer back in 1998 at AMD and asked them if going to the 64-bit Alpha EV6 bus design would be beneficial to them. I knew it was a great supercomputing design and would benefit these types of projects much more then the Intel design at the same ever could. They bought the rights to the Alpha EV6 bus design and the rest is history. I was one of the first original 900 people using seti@home at that time. Seti@home was the first major test pilot project for this sort of thing. I feel I am a valuable contribtor at times..recognized or not. I want to see the grid projects grow and do great things. |
