Hi, Dave. I've never done any lagering, although I know that it usually doesn't take as long as you have done. I presume that this will make it even better.
I think my hop plants are starting to get stressed out from the heat, even though I've been giving them plenty of water. It got up to 106F here yesterday, and is supposed to do the same or maybe 107F today. I think it might be getting close to the time to get new paper (start a new team thread). I don't know if there is a limit on how many pages we can go to. Just something I thought I'd mention for the next time that Fred happens to venture by. Good luck with your new brews. Cheers. |

Hi beer-lovers!
----------------------------------------Just wanted to show my appreciation for the brewers here! I live in The Netherlands and close to the Belgium border... sometimes, on a sunday, I sneak across the border and visit "The Beer Paradise". It's 1500 m2 of beer, trappist and liquor! They sell 600 different brands of beer (for example "Satan beer " and chocolat flavour!! )Just the shop for you all...! http://www.bier-paradijs.com/ Kind Regards, e.

Hello, 'E'. Beer Paradise??? Hmmmm ... time to start planning my vacation for next year.
I don't recall seeing many posts on homebrew forums from folks in the Netherlands. Is that because they post in forums for a language other than English, or is it not a popular hobby/craft over there? Have you ever tried homebrewing yourself? Cheers. |

Looks like we'll be slipping one position tonight because Broadband Reports is close behind and is posting about 400k points per day. Awesome for the WCG and crunching, so we can be happy about that part of it. I project that we will be passed by Wisconsin in about 10 days, give or take. I really don't like to keep posting recruitment messages on so many brewing forums, and always prefer to have some good news to share as an announcement of sorts. I therefore plan on making a big deal when our team finally completes its FIRST CENTURY of crunching, but that will still be over a month from now.
Anyone have any ideas in the mean time? Cheers. Bill Velek |

Finished harvesting my hops. Am bottling a batch right now, and am thinking of brewing a batch today -- although I haven't really checked my inventory or thought about a recipe. Maybe an IPA; yes, that sounds good.
Cheers. |

Did a 'double-header'.
An IPA and a Brown Porter, and part of the hops in each were my home-grown. I'm very anxious to try them. Cheers. |

Where are all the 'Homebrewers"? We're slowly sinking here. Am brewing and bottling again today, so besides 'crunching' I'm still trying to hold up my end. Anyone else brewing this week?
Cheers. |

I feel like I'm talking to myself.
What happened to our team? We used to get an occasional post, but lately it's been completely dead.I took some homebrew to a party at my sons' home last night, and it was a big hit ... as usual. Gathered up a bunch of bottles for me to recycle, too. I have nearly another case -- mostly Sam Adams bottles -- now soaking in a tub of bleach solution. I figured I'll need them because I have three batches finishing up fermentation right now -- an IPA, a brown ale, and a stout. Cheers. |

Hello all,
Sorry for being so quite lately. BEEN VERY BUSY. Hope all is well! I would like to invite anyone here to play Fantasy Football (American) with our league. This league has been going on for abut 6 years; but this year, we've lost quite a few players. We need people to sign up quickly (by tomorrow, 9/4/2007). It's a fun league, with quite a bit of banter, ribbing and the like. To check it out (and hopefully join), see: http://freemeeting.0.football.sportsline.com/...c239a3c7ec029fe08bd74a54f password is "nomoresteel" without the quotes. Hope to see y'all there. |

Sounds interesting, rj, but unfortunately I don't follow football and wouldn't know which players to pick, etc. I do enjoy watching a game now and then, but I don't read up on the players and that sort of thing. Several of my sons are really into it, though, and they have their own fantasy league with their own system of scoring, etc. They've been kind enough to invite me to a number of their cook outs (the members of the league take turns holding the party at their place -- lots of food, beer, etc.), and it's always been a lot of fun. If I actually knew anything about the sport, I'd try to join their league, and the name of my team would naturally be "The Homebrewers".
I hope you manage to get the participation you need. Cheers. |
