New BrewingSupplies Yahoo Group

For any homebrewers visiting here, I have just formed a new Brewing Supplies Yahoo Group/Maillist which is http://groups.yahoo.com/group/BrewSupplies-US/ = www.tinyurl.com/2wnang and which is EXCLUSIVELY for discussion of on-line sources of brewing supplies. That makes three specialized homebrewing groups that I now have, if anyone is interested. The 'sig' file that I currently use in my emails and usenet posts is as follows:
Bill Velek - PERSONAL sites = www.velek.com & www.2plus2is4.com
650+ homebrewer group just for Equipment: www.tinyurl.com/axuol
250+ member group just for Growing Hops: www.tinyurl.com/3au2uv
NEW group just for Homebrewing Supplies: www.tinyurl.com/2wnang
Join 'Homebrewers' to Help Cure Disease: www.tinyurl.com/yjlnyv
... which I hope isn't considered to be too excessive, but I want to promote the WCG and grid computing, too, along with my brewing sites -- and the WCG and my Project 2plus2is4 get top billing, but alas, our team gets the last plug.

For those members from the U.S., have a happy and safe Independence Day celebration.

Cheers.

Re: Eat, Drink, and be Crunching (Team HomeBrewers Welcomes You)

Well, time to introduce myself, and it CERTAINLY is time to bump this team's thread to the top of the list biggrin

'ello all, t' names Ron, and I too enjoy the fine art of homebrewing. If anyone, as a visitor, has not had a homebrew in their lives, you are definately missing out on one of God's blessings!

Hopefully, we can get some more activity here again, and get those points for WCG while relaxing, not worrying, and having a home brew (my apologies to C. Papazian).

Enjoy,

Ron

Oh, I forgot to add earlier, where I found this group. Well, I searched for a group to join, and of course, homebrewing is close to my heart. Therefore, I knew this was the place I had to call home. I am delighted to be able to assist homebrewers, and other beer afficiandos, in helping to make other peoples' lives better. praying

Re: Eat, Drink, and be Crunching (Team HomeBrewers Welcomes You)

Welcome to our team, Ron. If you have looked through our thread, you have probably noticed that there isn't a whole lot of discussion here, but we 'try'. smile ... occasionally. I have been brewing for longer than I can remember, and it is a GREAT hobby/craft. I'm an all grain brewer, and I formed this group ... although I turned over the title of Captain of the team to a fellow homebrewer who contributes MUCH more than I could ever do for the team.

Anyway, I'm an all grain brew ... very active in the homebrewing communities ... and I'm trying to decide whether to brew today or not. biggrin I have a bit of time on my hands, so maybe I'll just jump into it. I have a good inventory of supplies, ... but I also have a good inventory of brewed beer. NOTE: that's not an invitation to come visit and drink my brews. biggrin

If you found your way here via a search for teams on WCG, then you must not have seen my various posts on numerous brewing forums, such as r.c.b. So, ... you might not be aware of my other 'activities', so if you are interested, please take a look at my Yahoo groups:

650+ homebrewer group just for Equipment: www.tinyurl.com/axuol
260+ member group just for Growing Hops: www.tinyurl.com/3au2uv
NEW group just for Homebrewing Supplies: www.tinyurl.com/2wnang

Good brewing to you, and thanks for joining our group.

Cheers.

Re: Eat, Drink, and be Crunching (Team HomeBrewers Welcomes You)

Hi Bill, and thanks for the welcome!

I've been primarily an extract brewer, but I am going to go all grain. Quite honestly, I havn't made a batch in some time, so I NEED to get back into the kitchen, and get one going. crying

I will check out the URLs you gave me. I have perused some of the back posts in this thread, so I have an idea of how people have attempted to keep this forum alive (obviously, its been a challenge angry ), and have also seen some of the descriptions of the sites you have posted here. Thanks for the leads.

Well, hopefully we can get a bit more traffic in this forum. Each time we post, of course it bumps our discussion to the top of the stack - therefore leading to more of a chance of recruiting new members. biggrin

Anyhow, thanks again Bill, and I will let you know after I've checked out the sites you've highlighted.

Cheers.

Re: Eat, Drink, and be Crunching (Team HomeBrewers Welcomes You)

Thanks for the warm welcome folks! Nice to see the cooperation from the other groups in keeping WCG strong.

Are there ever any friendly competitions going on between groups? It sounds like it'd be fun to have a bit of head-to-head to keep morale up, and the forums full of chatter.

Anyhow, thanks again for the welcomes. Very much appreciated. peace
