smile Estimated Endtime

Please add a output for the estimated endtime to your software. This shouldn't be a programming problem.
Every time the progress is updated you can recalculate the endtime based on the current time used.

This would be a great feature.

Re: Estimated Endtime

Well... This tools seams - functional - but i would like to have a solution inside the client. The UD client is good looking, and thats why I dont whant such a solution.
It's just a label more on the info page, and 4 lines of code. So I hope that an integrated solution is possible. 8)

Re: Estimated Endtime

It's a question of clutter. As you say, it's trivial - but if all the possible data were there, there'd be no understanding it. Simplicity is all. Try working it out in your head ;-)

Besides, the UD client is proprietary, and we can't change it.

Re: Estimated Endtime

But maybe you can give a hint to the developers. ;)

Re: Estimated Endtime

Hi Kevin

The answer to your question is that for most of the projects we are running here on the WCG the run time cannot be pre-determined as the calculations are what the WCG developer Alther calls non-determistic i.e. random

You might find your cruncher completes the first 10% in 1 hour so you might be left believing that 9 hours more will do it sadly this is not the case with the science we are carrying out here it might take nearly 10 hours to reach 99% and then take another 10 hours to complete that last 1% it's just luck of the draw

This is the reason behind not having a software solution to your requirement.

Sorry it's not good news

Dave
