hello, I've installed the program on my windows box but the program took more than 70 MB of memory, thats too much, as a result, I've uninstalled the program, is there any way to reduce the memory usage majorly?
have't tried it on my linux box, will try and see dagg |

No.
Read the minimum requirements. This sort of science uses a lot of memory. Lots. But why is it "too much"? Other programs use similar amounts. Is yours at such a premium? |

Memory's cheap.
----------------------------------------My smallest computer has 512Mb, sufficient for running FAAH. The largest has 3Gb, and has no problems with resources. At the moment, 11 different Internet Explorer browser windows are open, a family history program, and BOINC.

And if I can run Visual Studio, AutoCAD, countless minor programs AND a Virtual PC instance at the same time as WCG, I think you should have no problems.
The only slow-down I experience is when AutoCAD runs a background indexing process that is set at an overly high priority. |

11 different Internet Explorer browser windows are open Shame on you. It's the most insecure piece of software ever written - I'd advice using something else... Each window has a different rootsweb.com family history pointer that I'll get back to eventually without rehunting for them, no big deal. One window is for this. We keep getting word files and excel files in the mail, but we don't use those Mickeysoft products and prefer plaintext for messages.
