I'm participating in all BOINC projects with the same username and password.
Here in WCG it is'nt possibile. My username is given to someone else and doubles are'nt allowed and my PW includes a - (minus-sign) So i've to change in more as 30 projects my account datas??? Or i can't use an account manager... Any ideas to get the same PW and name in WCG allso? Both are favorite ones i use since years! If i want toparticipate in WCG i'm loosing lots of fun... That is not really necessary as the connecting factor is your email address ..... in BOINC stats it would pick up the x-project ID associated with said email and pull all together. Once u have a BOINC account at WCG and signing in should.
----------------------------------------The password and security in general at WCG, that is much stricter than other projects. The accounts manager system / bam, WCG at present just read-only facility....you'd have to sign into WCG website to make changes. Just checked and other projects have a email/pw login for adding accounts manager links....here it's ID/PW. Maybe i dont understand the problem, but i run 4 projects from 1 BOINC manager and all adds up.

WCG only offers partial account manager support. For now, attach to WCG manually.

my password in all projects has 3 letters, than a minus sign and than 3 letters again.
----------------------------------------WCG did'nt support the "minus sign" and so i'm chained to use the 6 letters without the minus... So BAM is'nt able to involve WCG to my projects. If i try i get a wrong PW Message... BAM can't work with 2 different PWs. I think there is no way to fix the problem. WCG is allso a BOINC project but it did'nt use the standard Features...!!! As Didactylos said , WCG does not fully support account managers like BAM.
You really don't need an account manager to use BOINC. They just make things simpler. :) In statistics sites like BOINCStats, you will still get all your statistics, as what matters there is the CPID (cross project id) and email address. They may be divided into stats for everything else, and WCG, but you will get your stats. |
