I do have to agree with joatmon, the older logo looks more like a grid, and personally, I like it more too... Oh, I believe I found the old version logo somewhere in the place where it was about help for the forums or something, I can't remember where it was however...

The point of all of this is to get a standard 468x60 banner that will entice foks to come see what it is all about - the banner that is being discussed is a weird size and wouldn't get a second glance IMHO.

Given the trademark rules, we cannot simply make up a banner and provide it to you at this point. We are currently looking into what alternatives may exist that would enable you to point interested people back to the WCG site, and we will certainly take into consideration that size requests you have made.
