It would be nice to have a nice 468x60 [or other sizes] banner to ad to a forums/home page ad rotation.
It would be real cool to have something simple that updated gross stats that could be put on pages. Just my $.02 USD |

what would be the reason to sue if you're using it to link to this site? corporations really only sue if they're losing big or aren't going to get a lot of money out of it...
now if your site is huge and you were using the banner to diver traffic to some sort of online store...eeeeh, they might not be SO happy. I'm not the admin though :P |

I know, I don't really expect them to sue me if I use their logo to advertise the project, but I was going to an extreme in the hope of getting an answer. part of it is wanting to be sure, part of it is to keep asking to see how long it will take to get an answer

I know, I don't really expect them to sue me if I use their logo to advertise the project, but I was going to an extreme in the hope of getting an answer. part of it is wanting to be sure, part of it is to keep asking to see how long it will take to get an answer It's all about trademark infringement and trademark dilution. The short answer is no, we do not want our trademarked logo used outside of this site without our express permission. However, we have come up with an idea or two about providing an image to be linked from member created web pages. It might be a little bit of time before this happens, but it's in our pipeline.

OK, thanks for the answer. I had looked and couldn't find anything on the site or in the agent. Maybe that can be added to the website somewhere and/ to the license agreement user's must accept when installing the agent.
----------------------------------------I now see the little "TM" next to "World Community Grid" in the image. Is the term "World Community Grid" something that we should also avoid using without prior written consent from IBM?
