Welcome Spanger,

Thanks a lot Sekerob but my CPU is a 1.7MHZ mobile chip and I´ve tried it also over night - so there was no other process running - but still only the aids project HD space is also big enough ...

third option...check your device profile for the allocated space on disk.....HDC needs lots.

Currently, there are not enough HDC workunits have it run all the time. If HDC is the only project you've signed up for, it just might be that you are experiencing the lull between workunit batches.
----------------------------------------Have you ever run an HDC work unit? I see you returned a result just a little while ago. Was it an HDC result?

Hello spanger,
HDC (Help Defeat Cancer) does not have a backlog of work units. The work units are scanned off a biopsy sample from the tissue archive and then transmitted to the server. There are many computers waiting for each HDC work unit, so you might have to wait a day before you win the lottery and download a work unit. This is why My Grid - My Projects has a check box labelled 'If there is no work available for my computer for the projects I have selected above, please send me work from another project (this option only applies to BOINC agents).' which allows computers running BOINC to crunch on a different project if no HDC work units are available. Here's the log entry as what i pointed at in my first post from top....now had 3 of these occurrences in the span of a good week.
----------------------------------------06-09-08 8:08:06|World Community Grid|Message from server: No work can be sent for the projects you have selected 06-09-08 8:08:06|World Community Grid|Message from server: No work is available for Help Defeat Cancer 06-09-08 8:08:06|World Community Grid|Message from server: You have selected to receive work from other projects if no work is available for the projects you selected 06-09-08 8:08:06|World Community Grid|Message from server: Sending work from other projects It nicely gives me now piecemeal HDC's and FAAH rather the first time a 3.5 days load.......still i'm getting the FAAH's in between with time estimates way to close to the HDC's, so causing EDF to the extend, that i needed to cancel a few before start.....HDC's are 1.75 to 2.25 CPU hours on my machine.... FAAH's are 7.5 / 8.0 CPU hours. At the moment HDC's sit in queue with 3.27 hrs completion projection and FAAH's with 4.09. ciao

so far mr. hardin, the delay i've found for a hdc workunit is no more than an hour. do you know if Dr. Foran has any plans to increase the production of workunits to get that eliminated?

Hi vavega,
As far as I know, the project is running just one tissue analyzer. They seem to be running more samples through it in a day than they predicted they would, so it is probably going all out. Here's hoping that they are doing a similar job of analyzing the results (and that they do not have any maintenance problems)! Lawrence |
