Blueroom,
----------------------------------------Sgt. Joe already put a link to a repeat post of the table. I've just added a Best Docking Energy graph sample of what's listed as Type 1, having segment saves at 16.66% steps. As said, Help Defeat Cancer already got the Throttle Note in the Graphical screen, so it was all taken care off before the big moan re-started...AND most all other projects run only on BOINC which has no throttle yet (much requested !!!!!) and dont employ lawyers to deal with 200 degree Fahrenheit coffee. The throttle, if u read the pages was available from the beginning for UD Agent, Nov, 2004.....which is one of the reasons why i came here to do HPF instead of grid.org, as i was running hot for several reasons.... The Throttle part can be set in the System Control Panel! ciao

Yeah statistics do not say nothing at all ,it is just that there is in your words 9000people joining every month and statistics show that average results/runtime/day have dropped. But yeah sure you cant make any conclusions Indeed it is always possible that just for some reason those 9000people have very very slow machines You are clearly incorrect: There is obvious evidence in the statistics of a steady rise in points generated/runtime/results returned. I think you are misinterpreting the weekend drop in processing... |

Just one post this time,
Blueroom, One of the places the table posted by Sekerob is located at http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread?thread=8331#68267. Try not to be insulted. I have only been on WCG for a short time and have found those that answer my questions to be quite helpful. Sometimes their answers are over my head, but that just means I need to do more research to fully understand what they are trying to tell me. People worry too much about the 60% throttle, just let your machine crunch, it will get there, just a little slower. Point of info: The 60 degree coffee is in Celsius, which I think right off the top of my head is about 125-130 Fahrenheit.(Please correct if wrong) Sgt. Joe Sgt. Joe, Thank you for the link, I have indeed missed that. Since a lot of people don't ever look in to the forum it would be great if these kind of issues with explanation and all additional information would be placed somewhere else. (like front page) I am not personally very easy insulted but I think it is just very bad manners how some people here reply to questions. This might be because of personal issues or because of the fact that for some questions (like these 2 discussed here) there is simply not a good answer or there is but the right answer (also called as a truth) would make wcg look bad so they do everything to deny it. Its also possible that some people who are answering simply do not know enough about computers, laws and programming and they expect that others don't know either and this is where all goes wrong. You are going to feel like an idiot someday when you realise there are a number of other explanations for the dip in the stats. I think that feeling will be appropriate. Dagorath, Please be very careful when your using offensive language (such as you will feel like an idiot), its is very offensive and just bad manners. Arguing can be nice but when you start straight mocking (example if I would just say that you are a moron) it doesn't really lead anywhere. I did not say that there isn't any other issues that may affect stats but if you take for example last 4months development when there has came 36000new members (at least 40000 new machines) and compare it with the stats this week (holiday season allready end) you can see that wcg is for shure not growing speed of 300users/day. In fact its seems that development has been opposite and wcg has lost more members than it has gained. Reasons why so many quit we can only guess but it would be very naive to believe that these new features and offensive/insulting answering in the forum wouldn't have any effect. I'm sure you have far more experience with that than I do so I will take your word on it. Great, hope to see results very soon. As said, Help Defeat Cancer already got the Throttle Note in the Graphical screen, so it was all taken care off before the big moan re-started...AND most all other projects run only on BOINC which has no throttle yet (much requested !!!!!) and don't employ lawyers to deal with 200 degree Fahrenheit coffee. Sekerob, Please notice part RE-Started. Anyway other grid project don't have throttle and even if they will in the future this has nothing to do with the lawyers. Please read my software company example from previous post. What comes to the coffee I couldnt care less on what temperature does people drink their coffee but as I explained that example had nothing to do with the issue here. You are clearly incorrect: There is obvious evidence in the statistics of a steady rise in points generated/runtime/results returned. I think you are misinterpreting the weekend drop in processing... Fraz, Please see results in longer period of time (for example 5months) if wcg would grow 9000 member speed every month and people wouldn't leave the project with big numbers those result today would be totally different.( a lot higher) |

Dagorath, Please be very careful when your using offensive language (such as you will feel like an idiot), its is very offensive and just bad manners. You started with the offensive language and bad manners. Take some of you own advice Arguing can be nice but when you start straight mocking (example if I would just say that you are a moron) it doesn't really lead anywhere. I believe you did call me a moron indirectly and intentionally. So again, take your own advice. I did not say that there isn't any other issues that may affect stats I beleve you did say that. And now that you have been called an idiot and have been proven to be an idiot you are trying to spin what you said into something else. but if you take for example last 4months development when there has came 36000new members (at least 40000 new machines) and compare it with the stats this week (holiday season allready end) you can see that wcg is for shure not growing speed of 300users/day. Reasons why so many quit we can only guess but it would be very naive to believe that these new features and offensive/insulting answering in the forum wouldn't have any effect. I think the new members are so busy laughing at the stupid crap you write here that they forget to start their BOINC or UD agents. I'm sure you have far more experience with that than I do so I will take your word on it. Great, hope to see results very soon. That one went right over your head. Oh Vanna, give that man a vowel or 10. |

You started with the offensive language and bad manners. Take some of you own advice I do not see how but if you feel that I have offended you I am truly sorry. What I was "offended" myself from the start was not so much the language that answers use but more importantly the content of them. I believe you did call me a moron indirectly and intentionally. So again, take your own advice. That was not my intention, if you feel that way, I am truly sorry. I believe you did say that. And now that you have been called an idiot and have been proven to be an idiot you are trying to spin what you said into something else. I really did not say that. Please read my messages one more time and if you find the part where I said it, please quote it. I think the new members are so busy laughing at the stupid crap you write here that they forget to start their BOINC or UD agents. Unnecessary That one went right over your head. Oh Vanna, give that man a vowel or 10. No it really didn't, I don't really care what is the reason for getting better answers in here, if its the fact that you or others think I am an "-add your favourite mocking word here-" thats fine. As long as the quality in answers gets better you may laugh at me as much as you want. But if the quality gets worse ... stop laughing and get to work ![]() |

But if the quality gets worse ... stop laughing and get to work ![]() I beg your pardon? I do what I do here for free, nincompoop, as do all of the Community Advisors and other helpful volunteers like Sekerob . We don't get paid for offering advice, we do it on our own time. The amount of time Sekerob, for example, puts into researching issues and topics and thinking of solutions is staggering. Then there are people like Didactylos who is probably qualified to run this entire project from start to finish and gets paid nothing, zero, diddley squat. And you dare to suggest we need to work harder? Nuzz604 got off on the wrong foot but at least he had the sense to admit his mistake, take the advice he received and shut up. For him I have respect. It's evident from your posts in this thread that the only one who needs to get to work is YOU. It's obvious that you read next to nothing and think even less. Instead of helping yourself you chose to whine and moan and criticise volunteers for not helping you to your satisfaction. You are an ungrateful, lazy sod, a whiner, a twit, a pompous bufoon trumpeting your sloth and selfishness at every opportunity. Go pound sand!!
