Re: Looks like BOINC is picking up speed on WCG

Unless hidden (RCTCgrid has), u can actually see the device count at certain BOINC stats.

Remember that funny stat that was steady monday/friday, then blasting along in the weekend.....that's them, the whole Rochester College under one member....envy cool

About 1000+ computers between 2-3Ghz, about half dual cores running at 80% load and a few test odd machines. Another reason why we switched to BOINC client, it can make use of both cores in a dual core system.

I wondered if the availability of the new HDC work units has any bearing on the increase of WCG crunching? How many, like me, have come back to WCG recently because Cancer Units are what we really want to crunch.

That's great! I'm already proud to have 12 machines running WCG, if only........ wink

Could be, lots of people have close relatives which suffer or have suffered from cancer.

"Could be, lots of people have close relatives which suffer or have suffered from cancer."

I know that was the draw for me, having lost a parent to that friggin' disease. I don't particularly like BOINC, but as the man said above, it uses both cores so I deal with it. The more I can crunch against Cancer, the better.
