New device profiles not read by agents.

I created a few profiles.

a. Continuous
b. Off_During_Work_Hours
c. Default

Even if I set all the devices to use the profile ( Continuous ), all the Windows agents
are using the ( Default ) workload which paused during company hours. Even if I
stop and start UD.exe the old profile is read ( Default ).

I would like to be able to turn everyone on from the device manager page on the web. I assume this is the intention of the "Reset All Devices To A Single Profile" choice on the web page.

Am I missing something.

Re: New device profiles not read by agents.

The "Reset All Devices To A Single Profile" will reset all your devices to the default profile. Seems fairly clear to me!

If you have used that option, you will have to set your devices to use the profiles you want again, then click on "save". Your devices will acquire the new profile when they download their next work unit.

Re: New device profiles not read by agents.

The point is that once the device is paused, it cannot be turned on from the online devices control panel until it turns back on at its old schedule and finishes its work unit.

UD is only "controllable" whenever it talks to the server when it finishes a unit.

The one way to control you devices from another machine is actually to use BOINC. I think that is what you are looking for?
Try looking in the BOINC forum for more details on it.
I hope it solves your problems.

Re: New device profiles not read by agents.

Think to have read a post by LawrenceHardin, which gave a method to force UD agent to communicate with the server?
