I will echo Sekerob. I have had some of the Type 2 FAAH units get to 32-33% and get "stuck" for up to 6+ hours, but they eventually got past that point. Have not noticed sticking points with other types, but they could also be there. The units take more than a day clock time, probably 12 - 15 hours cpu time. AMD 2000+ 0681 1.7 ghz.

Finally I got the WU passing the 33% but it took about 10 hours. It just like working in a black box.

Sekerob,
----------------------------------------You should add another type: 9. It has 10 checkpoints, one at every 10%. Appreciate the list. Sgt. Joe

The list would be a lot simpler if you take into account that each work unit is split into a number of parts, and the type number is linked to the number of parts.
Thus type 1 has no checkpoints, type 2 checkpoints at 50%, type 3 at 33% and 66% .... etc. My logical mind finds this far more neat and satisfyingly extensible, since it accounts for any work unit, even those not yet encountered in the wild. |

d-oh....... might create Member tip SR 06-06. But, why am i doing this......the amount of discussion on checkpoints, loss of time what not on FAAH could have been killed from the word 'Go'......i just hope on the next project there will be some explanation to come, in how to read the graphics and progress displays.......this is not Monty Python's meaning of (crunching for) live.....John Cleese would do a superior job in making another 'how to un-sell a vacuum cleaner' communications video.
----------------------------------------PS, till today, on that in-famous grid, posts are made in member news about batches being loaded and any particulars.....this one candidates......it's these little things like being told how many ligands there are in a WU....and for the one who likes flexing the mind.....to prevent a bleeding brain: Type I. Saves ONLY when 100% complete! (Cant be interrupted at all) Type II.Saves AFTER 50.00 and at 100.00% (2 checkpoints / segments) Type III. Saves AFTER 33.33 , 66.66, 100.00% (3 checkpoints / segments) Type IV. Saves AFTER first 25.0% and subsequent multiples there off (4 checkpoints / segments) Type V. Saves AFTER first 20.0% and subsequent multiples there off (5 checkpoints / segments) Type VI. Saves AFTER 16.66 , 33.33 , 50.00 , 66.66, 83.33, 100.00% (6 checkpoints / segments) Type VII. Saves AFTER 14.3% and subsequent multiples there off (7 checkpoints / segments) ** Type VIII. Saves AFTER 12.5% and subsequent multiples there off (8 checkpoints / segments) ** Type IX. Saves AFTER 11.1% and subsequent multiples there off (9 checkpoints / segments) Type X. Saves AFTER 10.00% and subsequent multiples there off (10 checkpoints / segments) Type XIII. Saves AFTER 7.66% and subsequent multiples there off (13 checkpoints / segments) Type XV. Saves AFTER first 6.66% and subsequent multiples there off (15 checkpoints / segments) Type XVI. Saves AFTER first 6.25% and subsequent multiples there off (16 checkpoints / segments) Type XX. Saves AFTER first <=5.0% and subsequent multiples there off (20 to 25 checkpoints / segments) Type XXVI. Saves AFTER first 3.85% and subsequent multiples there off (26 checkpoints / segments) Type XXX. Saves AFTER first 3.33% and subsequent multiples there off (30 checkpoints / segments) ** Not observed yet. Added type XV 09.30.06 Added type XXVI 10.02.06 Edit type IX 10.6.06 seen in the wild. Added types XIII and XXX 11.07.06 (seen by BobCat13)

Sekerob,
Are you still updating this list of types? If so, recently I have processed two more that aren't listed. First one was a type XIII: 13 checkpoints at 7.66% each. Second one was a type XXX: 30 checkpoints at 3.33% each. |
