Re: 25 of 3750... Paused

I forgot to mention that there is a Firewall (closed) and the PC is connected to a Router (automatically).

Do I need to config the access or will it self adjust?

Thanks in advance for ALL your support wink

Hello zehelmer,
First, make sure you want to download the WCG client rather than the United Devices client at http:www.grid.org. Both these organizations use a very similar client but they are different organizations. It is not possible to run both on the same computer.

The project requirements are listed at http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/help/viewTopic.do?shortName=minimumreq

Currently the smallest project is FightAIDS@Home, which requires at least 250 MB RAM.

Projects can be selected at My Grid - My Projects or they can be selected for each computer running our version of the UD client at My Grid - Device Manager - Device Profiles.

Welcome Back to Crunching!

There is a lot to read in Start Here.

Lawrence

Added: The newsletters are stored in About Us - News & Media and the project status updates are all listed in http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread?thread=4925#51997

Re: 25 of 3750... Paused

Hi, Lawrence

Many thanks for your remarks and support wink

I just started from the Grid site (WCG) but the Agent shows "powered by United Devices" sad Shall I remove it and find the other one confused

It continues stuck there (Agent paused) crying and if I force the communication it repeats the "Receiving 3725 of 3725...." and then "Agent paused".

Also I don't know what kind of work is coming in?

Shall I give up?

May it be incompatible with the AV (avast) or the CPU Idle feature?

Hope you can give some more guidance over this difficulty.

Kind regards

zeh

Re: 25 of 3750... Paused

Hello zehelmer,
The World Community Grid uses 2 different clients, UD (United Devices) and BOINC. Which you choose to use is a matter of taste, though BOINC is newer and offers more options. Normally, if you receive a packet of 3750 bytes, it means that the initial handshake with the server shows that your machine does not meet the minimum requirements ( http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/help/viewTopic.do?shortName=minimumreq ) for the project(s) that you have signed up for.

You can try uninstalling the UD client and download the BOINC client at http://boinc.berkeley.edu/download.php

The BOINC message logs are much more informative.

What sort of computer do you have (CPU, memory, OS)?
