Application profiling study

Hi - My name is Jonathan Weinberg and I'm a PhD student in CS at the University of California, San Diego. I'm currently involved in a collaborative research project (UCSD, SDSC, RPI) to try and improve job scheduling on the BOINC infrastructure. An important aspect of this work is to perform detailed profiling of the applications currently being run on BOINC and I was hoping that somebody on this forum could help me get my hands on some code for a representative unit test(s) of the Help Defeat Cancer project tasks.

What I am looking for ideally, is some code (and any input data sets) that I could compile into a stand-alone, idempotent, task that would perform a typical Help Defeat Cancer computation task. I would need to execute this program repeatedly (observing resource requirements, memory access patterns, etc) so it should not communicate results or engage in any other production behavior.

If anybody can help me out, please let me know and we can talk in more detail.

Thanks!
Jon

Re: Application profiling study

The science applications are mostly proprietary. You will have to contact the project scientists directly, and they may pass you on to the application owners.

This is the guy you will need to contact in the first instance: http://pleiad.umdnj.edu/foran-bio.html
