THANK-YOU very much for this. I have been seeing this behavior (recently, all of a sudden) for some time now (from other applications). I didn't know it was an option!!! |

1. Last on top, A sorting, ascending or descending by date (Sekerob) 2. Stickies that remain always on top of the list of each forum department. (Anonymus) 3. Bolean Search of Posts & a "How to Search" pop-up page (Sekerob) 4. Show / Hide member signatures (Didactylos) 5. Bump posts that are completely off-topic 1st 3 directly below (all) 6. Further divide each of the project sections into "help/support", "science disscussion", and a general area.(vavega 8.6.06) 7. Allow Split Sign-in for Forum and Stats (Sekerob 8.18.06) 8. ........ Nr. 7 added as several times during ever longer 6 hourly Stats updates, it was found impossible to log into the forum even wehen bringing up the index page first before trying and cleaning out the cookies store. Nr. 3 extended with "how to search" pop-up to explain refinement of searches like an quotation marks enclosed combination of words e.g. "Feature Wishlist". In Fact the 'advanced' search explanations could be added below the search frame here: http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/search

Resurrecting this thread to reiterate request for a boolean search option.
----------------------------------------My memory isn't all that great and I have trouble finding stuff in old threads even when I have a good idea of what I'm looking for. A boolean search, especially with the ability to specify individual fields (e.g., poster, date range) would be a huge help. ![]() ![]() |

A boolean search, especially with the ability to specify individual fields (e.g., poster, date range) would be a huge help. Partial workaround: the search in the CENTER of the bar (between My Forum Profile and Rules) will search on member name.

Thanks. I've used it search for member names but didn't think you could use it with the text search. I don't know why I assumed they were mutually exclusive. Being brain dead really does $uck.

Have transported an enhanced screenshot, posted in past elsewhere, into the Forum Navigation & Search How To's.
----------------------------------------FAQ in the 'Start Here' forum explaining the functioning of the advanced ( ) Search Form.A Support section with 61 threads and 95 posts should not be that hard to visit, yet that FAQ only had 82 hits, including 4 revision visits in the 2.3 months of existence. ![]()

----------------------------------------I don't know why you're pointing this out to me. As I already explained, it never occurred to me that you could use both text boxes simultaneously therefore I would have had no reason to check the faq's. I've already admitted to committing a stupid error, what else do you want? Send over a phlebotomist and I'll give you some blood too? Will THAT be enough? After all, my main purpose in life is to make YOU happy. Darn, give it a rest. edited for language...cih ![]() ![]() [Edit 1 times, last edit by Former Member at Sep 20, 2007 2:36:10 PM] |

My posts are aimed and the readers at large to attract attention to this and more information available. Your questions are always good opportunities to expand on a subject or revisit one or the other source of information and improve on it if deemed useful to all the readers who come to this thread.
----------------------------------------Phlebotomists .... doctors here recommend not to visit those more than twice a year.

That's good to know. In these threads proximity usually implies causality. If something is meant to be taken as a general rather than specific admonishment, it might be prudent to mention that.
