Softly peddling, no harsh critique, just add to this list the features you'd like to see in the next version upgrade of our WCG forum software: Not wanting to mow away all the ideas
---------------------------------------- ....insert your feature request in the briefest manner:1. Last on top, A sorting, ascending or descending by date (sekerob) 2. Stickies that remain always on top of the list of each forum department. (Anonymous) 3. Boolean Search of posts (sekerob) 4. Show / Hide member signatures (Didactylos) 5. Bump posts that are completely off-topic 1st 3 directly below (all) 6. Further divide each of the project sections into "help/support", "science discussion", and a general area.(vavega 8.6.06) 7. Allow Split Sign-in for Forum and Stats (sekerob 8.18.06) 8. Jump-links to 'last page' of section thread indexes (ripped 8.26.06) 9. ........ Copy the list into your post and add your feature desires with your ID in brackets added......don't worry if u didn't know of a function that could already be there.....just might highlight that our forum software is in dire need of a serious revision in use-ability. Enjoy, but as said make the list item brief.....elaborations may be added below the list. The ID add allows to trace it back to the contributor to seek out any verbiage. ciao ciao

i would like to see a version of Boinc/WCG that can really use dualcore CPU's! I would also like to be able to adjust the number of procent the software uses of the CPU.

BOINC already supports dual core machines.
Throttling for UD is already available, and is being added to BOINC by the BOINC developers. |

Doesn't he mean that two cores would work on one WU, since this feature hasn't attached yet?

That's not possible. BOINC only runs the software provided by the project. Most science applications are not suitable for multithreading.
So BOINC has to run multiple processes on multi-core and multi-processor machines. |

Stop hijacking browser pages. If I click on a URL open a new page; don't reuse browser windows. Some of us multitask.

Hello jgebhard,
Stop hijacking browser pages. If I click on a URL open a new page; don't reuse browser windows. Some of us multitask. This is not possible for the WCG to affect. Each member sets his preferred web browser to run the way he wants it to run. Sounds as though you want to change your browser options. What web browser do you use? Lawrence |

Where did that non sequitur come from?
Generally, this is an option in your browser. Go to your advanced preferences and select "Don't reuse browser windows for launching shortcuts". If you meant something else, you're going to have to be considerably more clear about the problem. |
