The first problem my system did registered. The system has run a new problem every day. I watched the program say its sending the finished data and a new problem down loads and starts over. I check the view scores page and only the first problem shows. This has been going on for days, problem after problem. It looks like everything goes into the bit bucket and I'm wasting my time. I'm concidering removing the program. Anyone else have this happening.

Have you had a look at this thread http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread?thread=798 which explains how the website and agent statistics operate.

Do the total points and total CPU time in the actual WCG agent go up at all but just not the web site statistics, or do neither go up?

Thanks for your help.
I really havn't tried to figure out the point system, my only concern is am I producing info that is recieved by WCG my results page has the ---Last Result Returned--- entry stating the 1st day I started several days ago with none of the other uploads acknowledged over several days. If the page is updated ever 24 hours atleast some of those uploads should have updated something. Unless like I suspect it is being thrown in the bit bucket. |

The program incrimented for one of the problems solved out of about 5 problems, seems about 3 just vanished as far as the program is concerned. on the results page of the Web site only the first was record ant the last 4 vanished.

I don't know what the problem could be, and since there is no log file on the agent, it may be hard to identify. Maybe you can try sending a specific request to the WCG staff usinig the "contact us" form at http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/about_us/viewContactUs.do

Are you overclocking your PC? Has the CPU got a good heatsink on it?
----------------------------------------The agent may abandon processing part way through if there is any data corruption do to the above. Just a thought Dave |

Thank You!
I'm not over clocking and the processes run to 100% complete. The only thing I can think of is I tried to get the computer to run as a user vice Admin and it wouldn't work it errored out, so I just run as Admin. There is a process for today which is almost done. After it completes I'll guess I'll try to uninstall and reinstall the agent to see what happens. |

Thanks, This morning a second result showed up on the review page 6 days later. I guess someone read this post or the postings of results are a lot slower then I expected. I read here the problems are designed to last a week and I guess returning one everyday has something to do with the delay, only guessing. Thanks for your help!

the machines I run the agent on only ever get the one user logged on. I don't know how well the agent supports multiple users. Is there a chance that when you log off as one user and on as another, the agent restarts the work unit or grabs a new one, thus discarding any progress from the first user?
----------------------------------------I mean, is there a chance that this is the way the software behaves on any multi user machine? I don't know [Edit 1 times, last edit by joatmon at Dec 3, 2004 3:10:17 PM] |
