Hello NZMagenta,
There are some work units in FAAH and HPF2 with checkpoints many hours apart. If you want to switch projects every hour be sure that you retain old projects in memory while preempted. ( ? 1 hour ?! ) Lawrence |

Try to find version Beta 5.5.9 on the BOINC website. It is to wait for a checkpoint before project switching. Also i read recommendation to set the project switch to 4.5 / 6 hours, to allow the finding of a work unit check point...u can set that in the BOINC profile at WCG e.g. If looking over a longer period, each project still gets its designated weight i.e. if WCG had to much in the past, automatically it will give a bit more to the others, when it gets to them.
----------------------------------------ciao PS been running 5.5.6 and 5.5.9, at own risk for a few weeks now. Works perfectly fine. The log info is also more enhanced.

Thanks for the advice, I have now set my Preferences so that I am retaining project information at project swaps.
Thanks also for the information on the beta-BOINC programme, however being somewhat nervous of beta-releases I will wait until it is the recommended version. This apparently means I will not be able to set my project swapping by checkpoint attainment, my only option for the swapping is a time-based one (# of hours). Cheers all M |
