Google is your friend.
Popups, however, are bad. Don't use popups. |

Did, I Goo....L'd for this "Totally Insane" residence ..... is that in Nirvana or in the Hell-Freezes-Over place?
----------------------------------------Lahtis, I deduce from your few words that clicking on the software link to get UD or BOINC software, a second (pop-up) window is opened in either opera or ffx.....you have to permit www.worldcommunity.org to open a pop-up window to get there.....then you'll get the download window.

Related with javascript, I found javascript sometimes doesn't work on Opera.
For example, Device Manager => Device Profile => javascript:document.boincProfileConfigurationBean.submit(); When I change my config of devices and try to save it, the button doesn't work and I cannot save changes. On IE it works without problems. Anyone uses Opera without this issue? Thanks for reading, suguruhirahara |

Hello suguruhirahara,
Most modern browsers allow you to disable part or all of javascript using options. Check your browser controls to see if you have disabled javascript. This is often recommended to protect against malware, but it sometimes causes problems. I recently read a post where someone was having problems with the website because they had disabled javascript. Beauty with Firefox latest Bon Echo (automatic update offered), but also the 1.5 series with Noscript and Antipopup, allows for setting scripting permissions down to the website i.e. allow secure.worldcommunitygrid.org, but not www.communitygrid.org. Same with pop-ups.....u can even force it to open in a new tab.
----------------------------------------Opera, got 9.0 bld 8502. I'm missing some finese in the tweaking. Download button works, but page is twice as wide as normal. Oh, and there are 3 links on the same page carrying you to the download page......become member, download and join. 1st and last does not employ javascript. The download button has a sub that runs a statistal reporting function on the side. ciao

Thanks for replying,

No. I've not disabled javascript, because all button except that one worked without problem. eg javascript:redirectToForums(); works on Opera. Rather the problem was caused by the error in the scripts. Javascript error on IE says, "Can't move focus to the control because it is invisible, not enabled, or of a type that does not accept the focus." (Line: 920, Character: 1, Code:0, url: http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/ms/device/v...iguration.do?name=Default) Nevertheless the button works on IE, but it doesn't work on Opera.
