Re: Total CPU usage only at 83% on my dual core

This is the kind of sickening stuff that reminds me why I left other distributed computing projects.
The idea to use 60% of the CPU by DEFAULT was a noble approach and gesture but wrong! We are here to find better treatments and cures...crunch as much as possible in the shortest amount of time possible! To push the envelope to the maximum. Sure, were not here to burn up CPUs but its unlikely to happen on a decent system anyway!
I want to see 300,000 results per day.
Any disagree with me or have comments?

I couldnt agree with you more. I came here to get the work done and this decision is just a huge waste of resources. 99.99% of computers are fine with the 100% of CPU use and that why the default value should remain to be 100%.

Since there are approximately 300 new members joining every day the production will eventually recover and hit the levels it was before the 60% throttle.

You shouldnt forget that there is also lot of people leaving the project every day (maybe 10 maybe 300 and maybe after these kind of decisions 900 or even more)
It would be great if the stats would finally start to show the amount of active users.

Hi blueroom,
It would be great if the stats would finally start to show the amount of active users.
After we get the Cancer project running and get caught up, we intend to rework the statistics section later in this year.

angry Re: Total CPU usage only at 83% on my dual core

Well I had to pipe in here two. Its wasteing cpu time that I have set aside for it to run. Its better the old way or put in a option so that those that want to should. Or is it whenever and how ever you want it to run?

MyronGreene,

You can set it to 100% if you want. See this thread.
