This is just a nit, but the WCG Agent on my system is reporting Total Points of 7421. On the My Statistics page in the Member Area, the value is 7423. Both agree on Total CPU Time of 0:013:15:33:38. When I add up the values in the Member History, the total is that shown on the My Statistics Page, 7423. I last obtained a new work unit about 17 hours, 25 minutes ago. Is the value reported by the WCG Agent obtained from the server when I get a new work unit, or is it a total kept on my local machine? I suspect that it was obtained from the WCG server which means that it will correct itself the next work unit, but at the same time, it means that something changed it on the server between the time I got the last work unit and the time the statistics were posted.

Hi Dave!
----------------------------------------Me too. I have 3 additional points on stat's when compared to the agent totals. I think it a rounding difference between the stat's batch program and whatever program calculates the points of each WU. However, this is just a guess on my part. <dataman> |

There was a post when the grid first went public that there were round-off differences in various parts of the system. My Agent is awarding me fewer points than the website, so I feel like I'm ahead of the game.

*****NIT ALERT*****
----------------------------------------I've been aware of the difference in point shown by the agent vs. statistics due to rounding. Just wondering, is there a way to get the agent back in sync with what statistics reports? I'm up to a 5 point difference now. No biggie if I just have to live with it. |

Keithhenry,
There is not a way to get the agent and website back in sync. Fundementally the problem is that points are original calculated as decimal numbers by the UD Grid software and they are stored as integers for the website. As such, rounding errors occur. The best that you can hope for is that rounding will go the other way and it will even out. Sorry I can't offer you better then that. knreed |

I guess I am lucky, for the past couple of weeks mine has shown '1' number difference. It doesn't seem to correct. I thought it curious and was interested in this thread. Thanks. |
