Sorry BrainSmashR, i think yours in fact suffered impact..... your ID must have gone to your head. WCG stats update every 6 hours.....they are the only meaningfull stats irrespective if BOINC gives it up to the second.

Many still could not care less about being able to read quick then get all the lacing which eats a dial up users` bandwidth, cpu time, thus crunch time....have applied a block on your *.brainsmashr.* and RIPped images coming from same in FFX.... ....you've been reverted to plain text going forward.

Yes, I can see how that would be confusing for a noobie, but most people expirenced with forums know what's going on when they see a place holder instead of an image.

As for the 6 hour delay, again, that's a nice story, but if you utilize one of the more common sig generating websites, you are limited to their update cycle which is once a day rather than 4 times a day.

Now someone did mention in a previous post that there are other image generators out there, but I still have not been given a link, and I still don't see how that would benefit users without their own server to host the script/program.....which brings us back to using Boincsynergy or Munday or one of the others than only update their stats once a day.

As for the "benefit" of a stat sig.....It's not for you anymore than my car stereo is for your benefit just because you can hear it over your own car stereo. Or the paint job on my house even though you see it driving by, or the dog in my backyard even though he might fetch for you a time or two. Those things are for MY benefit, or in the case of the sigs, for the benefit of the user utilizing it.

If you don't want to see them, then block the images. It's a much more effective method since you just might run into sigs hosted by my server on other forums, and it's the "right" thing to do since a forum wide ban of wapsig's just to make 2 users happy is a ludricus suggestion.

I didn't come here for the drama....I don't even crunch for WCG. I just stopped by to find out if/when the WAP system will be implimented, and I got my answer from knreed, ironically enough, making all of your comments.....

Was "needless" the word you used....and I say needless because the extra wait brought me no real benefit.

Dagorath, you must have been Absolutely Torched and Twanged by that K.D.Lang email ......this is not worth any further discussion...he gets his WAPstats and there are like 2 that use is (him and his friend on WCG)....use FFX+RIP and you'll never have to see it again....www.boincsmashr.com is my Webscan permament blocktable in anticipation...learned something in the cause of this .

If WCG/knreed chose to activate this without much effort, its keeping the extra few crunchers happy....so be it.
