Could we have the timeout on the forums increased?

I've timed out twice now while trying to post. I put considerable effort into the composing of my posts only to have it disappear when I press the reply button.I know I should type faster but 2 works of art have diappeared into the ether already

aarrgghh crying

cool Re: Could we have the timeout on the forums increased?

That has happened to me many times and places. I keep telling myself to compose on Word and paste if it will be a long post, but it can be hard to remember. Once I remember a long half-page post by the SF writer Lois McMaster Bujold on Baen's Bar which she said had been a 2-page reply, but the Bar timed out so it disappeared when she sent it. So she just dashed off an abbreviated version. Even the professionals get caught this way!! Ummm... If that's any consolation?

The second attempt is never as good as the first. Never quite as catchy.
Just used the MS Word method to post into the smaller work units thread - I've got a bee in my bonnet on this one.

Good to hear from you again Lawrence
