I have a Althon XP 2400+ at 2.0 Ghz and I get only 88 points to the demonstration P4 1.5 ghz which gets a hundred. What gives? I understand that the P4 might be better at this particluar type of calculation, but its 500 Mhz slower! Seems like a big difference to me....

Hi tratch
Welcome to the Forum! Wow that sounds way low. My 1900+ gets 160 Processor score. These may be dumb questions but are reading the Overall or Processor score? {Are you clicking on the Processor Button?} Is the computer running other programs? (Games ETC.) Thats all I can think of as to the problem. Robert Join USA |

Your system will show it's true score once you complete your first work unit.

Your system will show it's true score once you complete your first work unit. Unfortunately, my AMD 0F48 2.0 GHz processor is now showing a CPU rating of 1, and this particular system has reported dozens of work units. |

So -- the terrible truth is revealed. [Grin] I have no idea why this happens, but it may be something in the UD Agent software. If so, it will be a very low priority item for fixing.

Sorry to hear that, be sure to report this bug. I know when I first fired it up it said my system was equal to the reference system but after a few work units it showed a very different story.

I have the same processor and typically get 200 pointsvs. the P4 1.5... go figure. Hard to know why without knowing exactly what's being measured, I'd guess. |

Alther recently explained this in http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread?thread=711#3096 It seems that the diagnostic program runs occasionally to test the amount of CPU power available for Rosetta to use. If you are playing Half Life 2 when it runs, your processor score will drop to 1 until the next time the diagnostic runs. [Grin] Alther says that it should all average out over time. I shall not ask a rhetorical question about whether we should waste CPU time running frequent diagnostics because I am certain some would shout YES! [Grin, Duck and Run]

I have an AMD Athlon Xp 2000+ Running at 1.7GHz
Overall 171 Processor 1.7 GHz= 162 Memory 1000 meg = 267 Storage 10 GIG = 196 Network 1.1Mb = 100 I would say that your result sounds very low and that something is wrong as you have suggested Hope you are able to resolve it Best of luck <GRAHAM> |
