Never had this before at WCG since joining july 2005, a completed WU send around 20:20 CET on 15.04.06 was not credited......as i hate these Deja VU experiences, did anyone else have that problem prior or current with WCG? Cant tell if this was a folder or a hiv protein as i registered for both projects, but suspect hiv as thats what i've been getting all week long.

The most likely probability is the result was invalid. Sometimes computational errors occur (particularly on overclocked computers) and the result is wrong. You get no credit for these work units.
Unfortunately, UD gives you no way of tracking your work units. If you migrate to BOINC, you can see exactly what happens as the work unit is processed, and you can see the result status after it has been submitted. |

The reason I knew the more or less exact time is, because I use the UD Monitor with a cache of 5 slots....when away I pull the network plug. The replacement WU was obtained at that time. No clocking whatsoever and as said, first time experiencing this at WCG, whilst at United Devices its a common affair. BOINC i.e migrating to Linux is no option...I'm stuck with some applications that need to be fully MS office compatible (project file sharing), not available on the Linux platform.

BOINC works just fine on Windows.
Invalid results are rare, but they happen sometimes. Keep an eye on it, and if it happens again, hopefully one of the techs will look into it and clarify exactly what happened. If you are caching 5 units, it is possible that the work unit timed out. Work units must be returned within 3 weeks (or after 2 weeks of CPU time). |

I wondered what the BOINC acronym stood for.....;>) I pulled it across in IE as Firefox refused to allow the download popup window, did the usual, entered my key (which i somehow already received after previous investigation last week) and fired it up. Running showing zero points, zero results, zero time etc. Trust it will get the cumulatives once sending in the first faah unit or? Like the log function for sure....downside being have to do lots more study on the caching as i positively do not leave my machine on the internet if not there....the cached processing is a great feature with Ud_Mon add on......was a week away and all slots used, so cant say they were "ingested" after validity expiration date.
