I know that WCG has been recently taking a very noticeable additional time to update stats.
----------------------------------------Any correlation with both Boinc and WCG taking longer for updates? I think not, just curious. More Members are using Boinc and more Members have been joining WCG. With the all the added participation, I think it's understandable. Again, just curious. ![]() |

I noticed this too. Some workunits are "Pending Validation" for more than a week now. I've had this before and at the end all units were changed to "Valid" and the points were granted, so it's nothing to worry about I guess.

Ouch! I had a work unit that took 8 1/2 hours yesterday that was "Inconclusive". No credit for anything.
---------------------------------------- Last three days, my stats seems like they were "borked" (pun intended). Is this happening to anyone? ![]() |

Read this page - it will give you some information about what each status means:
----------------------------------------http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread?thread=6105 You will have to wait a bit longer for validation to complete, but you will still get your credit. Also - last weekend I was trying a different algorithim for assigning work. This was an attempt to eliminate the occasional (incorrect) error messages that users were experiencing that stated that there was no work available for their platform. This caused it to take longer for results to be validated. I found a different way to resolve the problem that does not lengthen the time for results to be validated so we are using that now. I apologize that you experienced the delay. Kevin [Edit 2 times, last edit by knreed at Apr 8, 2006 2:49:55 AM] |

interesting that windows ud client not have seem to have the pending validation (asfaik) but boinc does.. also my ud/windows does not "SEE" my boinc credits.. hmm no big deal but would be nice if they were integrated, sometimes i have had a que of almost 10 results "pending validation" not that i am bothered, as long as credit happens sooner or later, cheers, keep up the good work

I'm trying to understand something here I just switched to Boinc and noticed that often times my devices will show that they returned a result with a given date displayed yet when you click on the device listed there is no entry for that date?
----------------------------------------Is this because the work returned is pending validation? Where does one see what work units are pending? |

With BOINC you only receive credit after validation has been performed. The timing of when validation is attempted depends on when the other sent work for your workunit return their results. That is something that we cannot control other then sending out the 4 results and validating when we get 3 back. |

Is this because the work returned is pending validation? Where does one see what work units are pending? The date for last result returned is exactly that - the date and time that you last returned a result. You will not recieve credit for that result until validation has been performed. Once you have been granted credit for that result, the points and run time will show up under the data that your result was validated - not the date it was returned. You can see that status of your recent results on the 'Result Status' page. You can reach this page by going to 'My Grid', then 'Device Manager' then 'Result Status'.
