Re: Connection time-Tech help

Both the UD client and the BOINC client will only connect to the Internet when you allow them to. They use the normal connection settings (Control Panel->Internet Properties). So, they will dial automatically, ask for permission, or do nothing depending on your preference.

I'm afraid the standard options don't allow scheduled connection times. You may find a third party program that does, or you could just let it upload when you are normally online, and leave it connected at night.

You could do a little scripting magic to connect and disconnect automatically.

The final (and best) option is to migrate to BOINC, if you are using the UD client. Then, you can let it download extra work so it can still be crunching while disconnected. The BOINC setting you want is Connect to network about every x days. Set it somewhere between 0.5 and 0.9, and it should happily download enough work to keep it going until you next connect.

Re: Connection time-Tech help

Hello Dharwish,
If you go to My Grid - Device Manager, then click on the Profile, you can create a UD client profile with customized connection times. You have to give it a name (default is NOT allowed) and save it. Then you have to assign that named profile to your computer.
