Sour grapes? Or small mindedness? Where I live, what you propose would be illegal. Maybe it is where you live, too. So? Being illegal and getting caught are two different things. And it's hardheadedness. Burned 3 quarts of mortor oil last night. I almost had to leave it was so smokey. I guess I'll have to do it again tonight just for you. lol you making me do this removes any good you'll ever be able to do and then some. Rather silly when you think about it. Everything could have been avoided by you just not being such a jerk to people with differing beliefs. [Edit 1 times, last edit by Former Member at Mar 20, 2006 5:56:12 PM] |

. . . Made of finest silver from the north of Spain . . . Sorry, I don't have a girl in every port....and ARID ZONA doesn't have a port.![]() I kind of wondered how much water there was out there, since all from the Colorado River is used. This thread answers that. Nebraska is using "fossil" water from the Oglalla aquifer for irrigation. It'll run out one of these days and the place will look like Arizona. The water rights in Texas usually are being fought over. Curiously, the first rights to the Colorado River (ours) go to rice farmers farther down river. We've been in a drought, but they get it if they want it.

Fire was so nice. If you know where to look you could see the oil cloud miles away even after the sun set.

I implied that people who politicised global warming, and who "don't believe that warming is man-made" were stupid. I was talking about the U.S. policy position, but for some inscrutable reason, pond scum took it personally.
And just to illustrate something (what, who knows?), he decided to do his bit to destroy the environment, in defiance of clean air ordinances. And this despite the well reasoned arguments for and against earlier in the thread. Some people are strange. |

Thanks for the heads-up, fb. Sorry, but we are going to be moving back there this summer. (So does that make it 497?) ![]() The weather, the hiking, Trader Joe's, Beyond Bread ... there's just too much that we miss. Tucson is a black hole. Once you have passed the event horizon, you can never leave. You may think otherwise, but eventually everyone comes back. I don't know how long you've been gone, but there are some nice groceries in town now (sunflower market, though it's at Pantano and Broadway), AJ's Fine Foods at Campbell and Sunrise (sushi bar, all day wine tasting, seriously good pastry/bakery, gift shop, and rare and unusual fresh and preserved products), and Sprouts across from TJs at Oracle and Magee, which is supposed to be a Wild Oats (previously Reay's) type market - though I hear it's overpriced and I haven't been. We've been looking at homes around Hacienda Del Sol between River and Ina but have noticed that the whole area is on sceptic. ![]() ![]() There are a lot of areas open now that weren't before - it all depends how far you're willing to commute. We used to live at Ina and Thornydale, but now we're north of Tucson Estates (on Kinney) at the Mountain Park boundary. What used to be desert with a big trailer park has now sprung almost 1000 new homes in the last couple of years. Dove Mountain, the Tortolitas in general, and Catalina are the current hot spots, as well as Sahuarita / Tubac, the north east slope of the Tucson mountains, and the far southeast from Golf Links to Rita Ranch. I never realized that Hacienda del Sol was on Septic. Strange, that's in the middle of town now. I guess no one wants to tear up all those roads. Let me know if I can help or inform. FB |

FB Thanks for the gracious offer, fb. We just might take you up on it. ![]() Now we know first-hand why Tucson has the reputation for "bringing them all back." As to the sceptics, I don't get it either. From just west of Campbell to just east of Hacienda del Sol; and from Sunrise to River - it's all on sceptic. You might enjoy the link as it has all kinds of useful references. Just play with the zoom function and look for the green lines (sewer). ![]() Btw, you might have to open the "Map Guide link" in Explorer (I did) as it won't run properly on Mozilla. ![]() http://www.dot.pima.gov/gis/maps/mapguide/mgm...path=mgmapinitnullAPI.inc [Edit 1 times, last edit by Former Member at Mar 21, 2006 7:35:22 PM] |
