Been Crunching for 2 days now, exclusively on FAAH WU's.
Quesiton-1: When logged into my account under [My Statistics] it says I have 4006 points over two days. When I check [Device Manager --> Results Status] and look at the BOINC Granted Credit totals, they look to be anywhere near that figure. Are there two different points systems being used or am I missing something? Quesiton-2: What is the update frequency user stats, then team stats? Quesiton-3: What is the Validator Update Frequency? I would imaging, given the volume of WU's, it must take a pretty good hammering. Thanks KE1HA . |

The World Community Grid staff determined that BOINC Points should be multiplied by seven to maintain parity with points awarded under the United Devices agent (originally the factor was 10, but it was subsequently reduced). Quesiton-2: What is the update frequency user stats, then team stats? User Stats are updated four times per day, at 00:06 UTC and every six hours after that time. All other statistics are updated once per day at 00:06 UTC. Quesiton-3: What is the Validator Update Frequency? I would imaging, given the volume of WU's, it must take a pretty good hammering. I am unable to answer this question. Perhaps one of the techs at the World Community Grid will be able to answer this or one of my fellow CA's may know the answer. |

Quesiton-3: What is the Validator Update Frequency? I would imaging, given the volume of WU's, it must take a pretty good hammering. The BOINC validator is a deamon which looks for new workunits ready to valdiate every 5 seconds. Currently the BOINC workload is generating about 11 years of run time each day (compared with about 115 years of run time each day for the UD agents). We have planned for both systems to take on much more load so although the validator is being used frequently, there is plenty of capacity available for more members to participate. By the way - there are actually two validators. One for the Human Protoeme Folding workunits and one for the FightAIDS@Home workunits. |
