Tweak to Device Manager Results Status page

Please consider adding a column to this page that gives a timestamp for when a workunit was validated. Some workunits can take many days before they validate. Once they do, they show with a Valid status but appear in the list with their Return Time. This makes it difficult to correlate which workunits validated today and were included in your work/points/runtime for today. Thanks!

keithhenry,

That is an exceptional idea. Unfortunately, right now BOINC does not store this information. I will see if it is something that could be added.

thanks,
Kevin

Kevin, just curious. I still like this idea. Knowing that there are bound to be 94322485483 other things on the list in front of it biggrin , any chance that this is doable to begin with? If not, no point hoping for that someday eventuality wink

Re: Tweak to Device Manager Results Status page

The WCG/boinc statistics seems to be a bit different than the standard BOINC results I've seen elsewhere, since much comes from the UD interface. (BOINC was added to the project later.)

It is doable but it will require a change to the BOINC source code, a new database column and then changes to the page. I would like this column also becuase I would like to know certain things such as the average length of time between the first result being sent and the workunit being validated. However, there are many things on the list so I cannot promise an implementation date.

Also - I think in Sekerob's other thread he asked how long results stay on the result status page. They stay around until 4 days after the workunit is complete. A workunit is complete when all results for the workunit have reached a terminal status (such as valid, invalid, no reply, error, etc).

Re: Tweak to Device Manager Results Status page

Thanks Kevin for that Result Status list retention clarification. Still like to have a response to the other Result Status page tweak request, to put the number of bracketed Pending Validations/Inconclusives in the claims column, so in one view one can see for each unit, in progress, submitted etc what the quorum situation is i.e.

59/00 (2), meaning 2 are on this WU in PV
00/00 (1), meaning 1 on this WU is PV
59/00 (3 in), 3 were submitted but are inclonclusive.
00/00 (2 pv), ...you're the last as always to send in the work
etc

The abbrevations would only be needed if the already submitted items have a different status then your own. Errors can logically be ignored as they do not contribute to the quorum establishment.

No extra column would be required, but that's estetica.

ciao
