??? When you look in the subdirectory under Program Files/WorldCommunityGrid you should find some files updated at each check point, such as wcg_autodock4.dlg, wcg_faah.state and wcg_gfx.state. Unless they are corrupted, you should restart back at the point at which they were written. Is there anything peculiar looking about these files (size, datestamp, etc)?

OK thank you...I noticed the time stamp on a few files and they did change when I rebooted to a new time. My pc did pick up where it left off so I guess I am ok now.
I only have one more problem I am dealing with. I have a third pc which runs win2k and I have noticed that it will not wake up sometimes. I can cut the power switch and turn off and boot back up and it runs ok for a while. This is an amd 1.2 ghz cpu with 640 ram. Nothing but wcg runs on this pc. I just wonder if it could be a heat issue or something. When I start back up wcg has finished it's work unit and starts a new one at that time. This pc is part of a network...I don't know if that could be part of my problem. I have antivirus and zone alarm running. |

Hi Polaray,
This problem does not remind me of anything, so all I can do is recommend diagnostic tests. Look at the 'Useful Utilities' thread at http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread?thread=2490 and pick out anything that looks useful, such as: 1) Motherboard Monitor: http://mbm.livewiredev.com/ Monitors CPU temperature. If the manufacturer does not supply a temperature monitoring program for your board, then see if this program works with your computer. If the temperature is too high, then read http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread?thread=2683 2) CPU Tester: http://7byte.com/index.php?page=download General diagnostic program 3) Memory Tester: http://www.memtest86.com/ Memory diagnostic program mycrofth |
