Windows agent constantly registering as a new device installation

My agent keeps asking for me to login as a new device installation. Why doe sit not recognize that it is already installed? It creates a new device instance and registers the new results with that new instance.
Thanks for your help.

Re: Windows agent constantly registering as a new device installation

Hello dyckfamily,
I assume that you are trying to install the United Devices client rather than BOINC. Could you describe your computer system? In particular, please list your firewall and anti-virus program. What sort of Internet connection do you have?

It may be that the agent files are being currupted somehow. Please run a complete virus scan of your machine. Make certain nothing else is writing into the WorldCommunityGrid install directory. A disk surface scan might also be in order in case you are getting disk sector errors.

Make sure DEP is turned off and if you have certain firewall/virus firewall/virus software that attempts to watch for stack overflows, this can cause problems too.
