I believe the WCG servers went down around 1500 today as boinc couldn't communicate to get work and this website was down.
Since the site has been up and running again, boinc on all my machines are still unable to get work - I am getting red error messages constantly saying the downloads are failing on both HPF and FA@H units. Is anyone able to assist with whether there is still currently a problem with the servers. Thanks, Ady |

We apologize for the error - we were doing some routine maintenance (installing some updates to linux) and the scheduling servers we rebooted. We missed the fact that the NFS filesystems did not come back up after the reboot (we are looking at why the startup script didn't work properly). As a result for about one hour these errors occurred. The filesystems are now mounted and you should be able to receive work.

Seach the forums for "Connect to network about every X days" for discussions of how that profile setting can be of help in situations like this.

Sorry but niether of us are WU Hogs ... however, if a timely outage is to be expected then we will indeed "stock-up" on WUs. knreed, thank you for your prompt reply. ![]() |

Uh, who said anything about WU hogs? You could go with a value of 0.5 for this setting. That would ensure that you have work available to crunch on for the next 12 hours. That should be enough to deal with any short outages like this and only have one or two extra WU's on your machine waiting. That should not impact the validation process. If you don't normally crunch 24/7, you can adjust this proportionally.
