Install UD Windows Agent by Group Policy

This is my big wish. I would like to install AGENTs by Group Policy (MSI package). I also would like to set some CFG file (same folder asi MSI package) - put user name, password, speed of line, choose working as service or only screensaver, user can see or cannot see agent. Than I should install it remotely over all my company, very variable. This I think could help more administrators, not only me, and than I hope we could use more power for you.

Anybody with me? cool

Can you answer to me, if it will be possible? And if yes, when?

Thanks.

I believe you can do this with the BOINC client. Start here for more info.

confused Re: Install UD Windows Agent by Group Policy

I think these automated processes are a bad idea.

My challenge is what is the difference between a member and a team.

To me a team is 'all of my company' whereas a member is an individual person who may have a few machines they want to add to the grid.

I get frustrated when I try to improve my individual ranking when I am constantly being pushed back down by a 'member' who had hundreds or even thousands of machines.

Or if this is not a good idea then why not have a point ranking mechanism for those members with less than (say) 10 machines to create a level playing field.
