Re: WCG support New CPU technic???

Your English is better than my Chinese.

WCG(Wrold Community Grid) support 64bit CPU?

Only 32 bit operating system (OS) or 32 bit partition (Win32on64)

WCG(Wrold Community Grid) support HT CPU (P4 2.4C & P4 3.0more)?.

Yes. HT is only two "virtual" computers and uses the whole computer even though it displays "50%". There is only one floating point unit, which is busy all of the time (100%).

WCG(Wrold Community Grid) support Excessive Core?
WCG(Wrold Community Grid) support Multi-CPU?
The BOINC version on Linux or Windows will support this and run 2 workunits at the same time. The regular UD interface does not.

Ask a question:Run WCG on Inter Celeron D 2.4G faster or P4 2.4G faster? Inter Celeron D 3.2G( 2.4G super) faster or P4 2.4G faster??

Run WCG CPU frequency important or CPU all round performance important??

thanks.

---> performance <---

See this list of processor scores, which measures performance.

http://www.unofficialworldcommunitygrid.com/WCGProcessorScoresorted.htm

You can see your own on the "primary task information" screen. Click "processor".

Scores will be approximate, because something else could be running on the machine when the score was checked after a workunit is complete. Some fast machines may be too low. Some low machines may be too high. Close everything else and leave WCG and internet communications running for the best comparison.

I see several P4 2.4 GHz at 190-200. Celeron 2.4 GHz is slightly lower, but not too much. Here is why I say performance: AMD64 2.4 GHz is 230-240. It has better floating point crunching performance here.

Do not worry about small comparisons between computers. Many do a good job of crunching here. Some of us get more results by running 2 computers....or 3 computers....or 60 computers, rather than getting a slightly faster one. 2 Celeron 2.4 is better than 1 Pentium 2.4.

Here is a list of what I am using:

processor score 235 AMD64 4000+ 2.4GHz
processor score 235 AMD64 3400+ 2.4GHz
processor score 190 AMD64 3200+ 2.0GHz
processor score 50 Pentium III/500MHz
